in what way is that sampler analogue? i've used the 900, 950, 1100, 2800, 3000 and 3200. none of them were analogue as far as i knew. i thought the only analogue samples were those old ones with the tape

i got a casio fz-1 and a emu esi 32. dunno if the emu is considered vintage though

I was reffering to the analogue modifiers although digital...anything before the S1000 sucks as far as modifiers go...do you agree?

you mean the DAC? i can't say that i have ever paid great attention to any of that, i've done no comparitive tests. prior to the 16 bit 1000 was the 12 bit 9 series though so i woulda thought that any difference in sample quality would have been more due to greater resolution more than superior digital to analogue conversion. i'm FAR from an expert though so i could well be wrong.

it makes a change though to see a hip hop head who ain't on a "12 bit is king" flex

Is he the guy who invented the MPC for Akai? I want to say "Roger", but the lectures from former gearhead FANGFACE are starting to fade.

yeah it's roger linn. he invented the drum machine, that's what led to akai commisioning him to design the mpc
