two more beats

Post by bizzlestiltskin »

hey,

two beats I made recently. They're not particularly great, but they were just of good enough quality where I wouldn't mind hearing some criticism of them. Lately I haven't made any beats that I'm proud of, but I've made a few of these decent ones.

life lessons- made this one pretty quickly. nothing fancy, just a bunch of chops. a bit repetitive, but maybe with an MC it wouldn't be so bad? It's kind of got that CNN's War report vibe.

dream state- a lot of chops mixed with a lot of plug in effects.

Dope. Life lessons is my fav of the two. Dig the chopping style and your basslines thump just the way I like. I'm suprised other shit on here is getting more props.

life lessons - nice chops, yeah this is heat, solid hiphopp

dream state - alright kinda predictable laidback vibe, i would maybe went with a more aggresive bass/drums to contrast with the samples make it less obvious/safe...

good work tho

life lessons: damn, this is ill, man. samples are dark, drums are crisp and grimey. your chop game is getting slick...just wish that bass hit a little harder. nothing else to really bitch about, good shit.

dream state: this is smooth. horns put it over the top, though i think they could use a little more reverb to help them carry. drums flow nicely. overall this is dope.

Life Lessons - Oo. Dark. This is pretty dope. This is rapper-friendly as it stands. The chops do a lot for this track. Nice stabbing motion. But I want more bass, god dammit. The trebles on this track are too much to not have some lower balance. But this is dope, especially if it's just a starting sketch.

Dream State - Drums hit nicely. And the bass is pretty prominent, which is good, but I'm getting tired of chops that don't go anywhere musically. I'm very judgmental, and my opinion is very subjective, but I just wished the song took me somewhere. Maybe with an emcee, I'd feel differently.

"Life Lessons" is a hell of a lot more impressive.

rockin that gritty ny steez. no real complaints here man, i dig both beats. life lessons is eerie as fuck, on some cormega shit right there. dream state got that head nod appeal. i like the bass in both joints. shit is prominent. alright bizzle, if i ever decide to pick up a mic, i'ma hit you up, ha.

life lessons-- nice chopping, and this has a great atmosphere. the bass sound annoys me, i think you should replace it w/ something a little more rough, if that makes sense. and maybe another sample in the mid range between the bass and the piano would help fill the mix out. regardless, this is tight.

dream state-- there's nothing wrong with this beat per se, but the melody didn't really grab me like the last one. nice job though.

Life Lessons- Ah word, liked this from the gate, went from the loop to the chops. Diggin it. Only thing I would say, is turning the snare up. Or maybe I'm just too used to Ant's snares, and Premo's compression on his. But it's a cool joint.

Dream State- I like this one a lot better. Shit is fresh. Something I would spit to. The transitions on this are nice. Beat doesn't get repetitive. I like this one a lot. Bass is thick as hell, lol. Good shit man
