I have a few new songs on my myspace page at www.myspace.com/anubis5 that I just recorded up in Ottawa for my new album that I will press hopefully around the end of this year. These songs still have to be sent and mastered but I thought I'd throw them up there right now anyways.
Intelligent Life w/ Kain Marko
I'll Tear You A Heart (Hip Hop Wears My Tennis Shoes)
Gigawatt Complex
Leave some feed, good or bad. It's all appreciated.
My f'd up songs

For the most part, I dig your beats.
They have a kind of erie synthy feel.
But I think they need some mixing.
Your lyrics are pretty cool too.
but. (please don't take this personally)
your voice sounds too whiney (for my taste)
I think if you relaxed a little bit and
tried to sounds a little smoother
with a deeper tone, it would benefit you a lot.
Not saying to make your voice sound
different than it does naturally,
but just tone down the high pitch stuff.
It's not a good look.
Not trying to come off as a dick.
Just being honest.
The high pitch whiney voice just bothered
me from the jump and stopped me from
wanting to listen to what you had to say.
I've worked with mc's with this same kinda
tone. And told them the same thing.
Once they were able to relax and realize
that they were doing it, their shit sounded
a million times better.
Peace

Feeling the beats man. I especially like Intelligent Life (though I think the drums should be mixed a bit louder.) I also dig Gigawatt Complex, though I'm not too keen on I'll Tear You (not a big fan of dissonant-sounding beats)
I thought the rapping was good, though I agree with Wes about your cadence. But overall it sounded good to me.
Nice shit man, keep it up.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I can barely take the way the beats are mixed. Wayyy too much spatiality. Push things a little closer towards the middle. Would like to hear this shit without the vocals. Vocals are really distracting.
"I'll Tear You..." has an interesting sample, but I don't feel like the drums fit it.
"Intelligent Life" is hotter, but I also have the same issue with the drums. You've got a great ear for slightly digital samples, but you're not making drums that compliment them.
"Gigawatt" feels the best mixed 'cuz there's so much less happening with the sample. Moves a lot more smoothly. Still like the samples on the other two more, but this is a steady song.
Good stuff, keep it up.
