Sigel, only because he's a more dependable artist I feel like. Styles might be nicer at times, but Time Is Money definitely hurt him in my eyes. If his Koch album is crazy though, and Beanie doesn't drop or drops a brick, I could change my mind about this one by the end of the year.

This poll is basically voted on by people, who don't even own/haven't heard 1/10th of Styles P/Lox material. Most people here didn't even listen to a Lox song until 2001, and I'm being generous. I bet no one on here who voted could name ten Styles P joints before his first LP. They probably couldn't list 10 Lox tracks not on LPs.

Yeah, but look at the demographic of the people voted on this board, my nigga. I highly doubt 99% of these kids were copping mixtapes in the mid 90s where the Lox made their legacy. I'm talking about tapes you can't find on albumbase.com or Ares. I mean, shit you had either have it, or you don't. They are basically voting on something, and they don't really have a knowledge of what they are discussing.Seiko Flossberg wrote:Magneto wrote:This poll is basically voted on by people, who don't even own/haven't heard 1/10th of Styles P/Lox material.
It's not like we're talking about Stack Bundles.

Iגve heard Styles before he got popular. I canגt say I heard all their mixtapes or street tracks while they weren't really available and Iגm a snob to any tape that isnגt good quality so I probably didnגt give many tracks a listen. The stuff heגs done with Main Source, CRU and early Ruff Ryders stuff Iגve been a fan of.
To me he isnגt better than Jada and Jada and Beans are kinda in the same league. Iגd say Beans is better because his track record is, whether its because of his affiliation, budget, whatever, he is just is better rapper now. I rather listen to Beans than Style P albums.

Mixtapes/unreleased tracks don't count.Magneto wrote:Yeah, but look at the demographic of the people voted on this board, my nigga. Sure, but how many of these same people know about Beanie's mixtapes (and I don't mean the Public Enemy ones or the State Property ones). How many own the mixtapes Beanie was droppin' in Philly before he caught Jigga's attention?Magneto wrote:Yeah, but look at the demographic of the people voted on this board, my nigga. Styles is a beast and for my money a better lyricist than Beanie. But Beanie has a consistent major label track record and is a better song writer (not a better straight spitter, but better at writing more conceptual shit). Bringing up the fact that most of this board wasn't up on the Warlox, his appearances on mid-nineties mixtapes, or even the Bad Boy era Lox (minus Benjamins) just comes off a little snobbish Mag. I agree that Styles is very underrated on this board in general, but it's not like Beanie is any type of slouch either. There's really no wrong answer to this poll as I see it.
I knew who Styles was, years before I'd ever heard of Beanie, but Beanie has improved leaps and bounds over the years whereas Styles has only really gotten better at being very one-dimensional. That's just my two though.

I disagree. While Gangster and a Gentleman is dope, it's not seeing any of Sigel's albums. I like Styles, but like Gloss said Jada > Styles and Beanie and Jada are on the same level.
My vote is Sigel. And I heard of Styles way before Sigel.

5 songs is a lot these days when you're talking about a 12-13 track album. 5 songs is actually more than what you'll usually find on a Jada or Styles LP.Magneto wrote:
The Truth is pretty much ass, minus 5 songs. B.Coming is dope, but the production could've been better.
What's important is how good are those 5 songs. And I count at least 6 bangin tracks off his debut.

You don't consider the title track a banger? I do.Philaflava wrote:5 songs is a lot these days when you're talking about a 12-13 track album. 5 songs is actually more than what you'll usually find on a Jada or Styles LP.Magneto wrote:

Holiday(check the sig )
My Brother
Gangster And A Gentleman
Nobody Believes Me
Listen
All hold up to any of Beanie's stuff too.
I like Beanie a lot, but I also find my favorite tracks of his usually involve him with other rappers "This Can't Be Life", "Guess Who's Back", "What We Do" etc. Which makes me automatically compare his shit with Style's Lox material as well.
And The Reason is a really dope album, and I enjoyed The Truth and B.Coming a lot...but overall, I'd give the edge to Styles.
