Pick the Philaflava Posse Cut Beat

Post by Philaflava »

Please download before you decide. As for why a few producers are listed twice, well Sneed provided the last posse cut track so he deserves to have two shots and Red Scare did the remix which made it even hotter.

If we don't have enough votes, I'll just be picking the track myself.

It would probably be faster to just download them. There are no waiting restrictions so you can download these all in under a minute.

I am moving this to M2C to hopefully get more votes going. I'll send it back to the Lab after this weekend.

Martins beat is the best. It has the best mix, a nice tempo, I dont know about that goofy werewolf soundin shit, but the guitar lick is fresh. It's tragic his shit is on sendspace people are gonna overlook that just cause.

Some of those are nice productions but the ones most fit for a posse cut are

beatsmith "diet fury"
and
axel foley "machine gun kelly"

Martin's is the best mixed, which is why it stands out, but that melody doesn't really hold me. Not feeling the rock guitars or the werewolf either.

I like axel foley's but somehow I feel the loop wouldn't hold up for 8 verses. I like sneed's beats too. He had some better ones he coulda submitted.

I voted for Ardamus, although none of these are really posse cut material imo.

i voted for butkis ali but athenas was a close second.

until i finished downloading martins joint. that shit rocks. that shit is fresh. so thats what my official vote is going to, with sneed and athena being close behind. word up.

and vanderslice is right, the sendspace totally fucked up the mojo of listening to them. i forgot about martins altogether until i saw vanderslices post.

I think Martin's would work the best for a posse cut. It's got good energy and seems like it would match a variety of emcees well.

ardamus' beat surprised the hell outta me, real dope, i voted for it.

martin's is a close 2nd.

i really like Red Scare's "posse cut submission" because it takes a different approach... but the drums are the most obvious sampled and it bothers the heck outta me.

I voted for Sneed's Butkis Ali track. I freestyled to it and it sounded like it had the best feel for a posse cut. Martin's track is dope, too. Glad you guys like my track though; wasn't expecting for it do well in the poll.

Ardamus's shit = HOT FIYAH. Loving the bass and sequences.

Athena's is cool, but would need a switch up

Sneed shit is tres incroyable (that's French for 'very incredible' you freedom fries eaters), but probably too layered for a crew track

Red Scare's beat is cool but too epic and might not make a good crew track unless everyone had the same concept in mind

that's that SICKENING Martin beat that I been loving, I really love this shit... but can cats ride that slightly sped up tempo? God damn I love that drum roll

machine gun kelly? not for me... but it's kinda ill with the 70's steez

voting for Martin
2nd choice: Ardamus

martin's beat is my favorite and is possibly the best choice for the posse cut but the machine gun kelly beat and ardamus's beat are both just as good for it.

honorable mention to Red's "Posse cut submission" and Sneed's "Butkis Ali".

both very dope in their own right just not right for a posse cut IMO.

basically every beat is sick though. i was seriously impressed. :phila:

Despite The Red Scare playing the role of disgruntled, young communist without a cause, his beat is WINNAR.
