dude does it off the top or non-descript verses flawlessly. YEt he doesn't seem to be able to translate that ever into a good/clever song. Honestly, I think its the format, its real hard to me to be a straight up punchline rap and make that into a dope song.

I liked most of the tracks on "From Where????"

Nod Factor is a classic itself.

As a close friend of Skillz I can tell you he did not do that Off The Top.Last time I remember him actaully freestyling was in the 90's on U of Richmond radio.
He did go off the top with Common on that youtube clip at the show in Va Beach.

Agreed, it's a very solid album. I think the era where that kind of rapping was acceptable has basically passed, and even back then it wasn't that commercially viable. Chino, Ras, Skillz... all very talented, but all doomed to underground obscurity, despite the fact that they all have at least one album that's pretty solid (to great to classic depending on who you ask). Skillz probably made some pretty good dough as a ghostwriter over the years though.

Skillz also jumped the shark in the Rawkus era I think. But he's still talented.
