58 ENT Production Beat Tape (Download 45 Instrumentals)

Post by vokal612 »

This is my first beat tape available to the public. A little bit about me first. I hail from South Minneapolis and have been making beats since 2004. My biggest influence early on was Swizz Beats. Ever since I have been listening to all types of beat makers and have been taking bits and pieces of everybody's techniques. Anybody who has heard of www.todaysbeats.com knows about Tee Tee Fleming, I have a lot of respect for him. I give it up to anybody that can sample LP's and also get their groove on with a synthesizer. I have been recording with several local (Minneapolis/Saint Paul) artists and continue to grow as an artist myself. I want to be known as a hard worker and a true producer. Peep my website www.58ent.com if you have time. Thank you for your consideration. Beats are available for purchase, contact vokal612@gmail.com

Noted. Thanks for the heads up. I have been reading a lot of threads the past couple weeks since I joined. Positive contributions to the forum to follow...

As for you Martin, move around. I really got into hip hop in 1996. Swizz Beats had a really unique sound and was at the top of his game from 1996-2001. He got me into looking at production, real talk. What does T.O. have to do with it?

I gotta disagree about Swizz though then. I tried getting into his stuff in that time frame and I couldn't stand that casio sound he had. Particularly with the drums. Only beat I thought that passed was "Money, Cash, Hoes" because it sounded like someone was getting beat up with a keyboard and an engineer recorded it; sounded cool. His stuff now is damn good. "Blow My Mind" and "I'm A Hustla" convinced me of his game being stepped up.

vokal612, how old are you if you don't mind me asking?

I was born in 1982. As far as Swizz Beats goes, it wasn't his drum kits that got me, it was his way of manipulating melodies. Very simple but got your head bobbing. Almost a theremin-like vibe that had a real groove. That "Let Me Blow Your Mind" was the beginning of Swizz's experimental phase that later turned into a reggaeton phase. Top 10 in my book, but not very relevant in the latter part of this decade (as of now).
