Are we seriously turning a Mayweather Stans' vs. Anti-Mayweather into some type of race thing now? Mayweather is a dumbass ignorant fool but he's a helluva fighter. He would(/will?) beat Pac if he ever has the cajones. However his sandy vagina seems to have a period for a year straight, so I've more than given up on that.
No we're not turning this into a race thing. I'm only saying that Merch doesn't get young people and that there are racial undertones to how he disrespects people during his interviews, period. I keeps it way real for ever and a day, and too many of you muthafuckas can't handle provocative commentary.

I've said what I said about Merch numerous times since I jacked the thread, but when race is brought up, cats get squeemish. I see the bitch and y'all though.

I'm jelly, bro. Sergio is a beast. I think the 2011 milf of the year, Lisa Ann, will be there too which would be a cool photo op.
Image
That Andy Lee Brian Vera fight might have some good action in it too. Not sure whats happening on the untelevised undercard though.

Also tonight on Fox Deportes there's a nice little card in Las Vegas with the main event being Rafael Marquez vs. Toshiaki Nishioka.
Image

On the undercard there's another Japanese fighter Yoshihiro Kamegai
<object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QZ3eDKr0xPg?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QZ3eDKr0xPg?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
fighting Roman Gonzalez. And prospect Jesse Magdaleno will be featured as well. The card starts about an hour or a hour and a half after the Martinez Baker card begins so I'm looking forward to catching what I can of it later.

Never heard of him until now, just googled him and pulled up his record off boxrec. His name is Magomed Abdusalamov. He's a southpaw and he's now 10-0 with 10 KOs. 1 coming in the second round and the other 9 happening in the first. Of course he's just begun his pro career and most of these guys that he's fighting are cans but still, I don't care who you are, not letting your first 10 opponents even see past the second round is a real testament to his power. If he has a good chin and some decent skills he may be one to watch.

i have no idea about his chin cuz it didnt gettested but his ko punch was a counter right cross that just caved the dudes face in after said dude threw a landing combo. it was tremendous.

super impressed by monaghan. he controlled the entire fight. dominated it. steven martinez is my new favorite random athlete i'm now a fan of (move over, Neymar ...brazilian soccer player). he looked like he was 16 but he is all long limbs and mad technique. i read that he was a sparring partner for sergio.

chilembe's opponent was god awful but he did dominate

sergio vs barker. incredible atmosphere, soccer chants and all, barker completely controlled the fight for the first five or six rounds BECAUSE SERGIO LET HIM!!! it was weird as fuck, but maybe part of the strategy cuz his corner never wavered or hollered at him. but basically marti ez kept his arms down, his fists near his knees, he literally did a roy jones jr against inferior opponent routine until he realized barker was winning, then he started taking more calculated risks and just crushed barker in the last two rounds. guess he did it on purpose. sergio caught a couple incidental headbutts too, one of em dazed him momentarily. barker's brother or friend or sth jumped into the ring to scream at the ref

awesome. i knkw what ive been missing out on. live boxing is mazing. the seats helped. ill upload shit when i get home but my phone died after the second round and i missed allthe knockdowns cuz i was top busy cheering

Random, but since RZN mentioned him and I feel like CSBing : I watched some Roy Jones Jr highlight videos today before the football games started. Woke up, ate breakfast (microwaved beef ramen noodles, if you were interested), and apparently wanted to watch some RJJ highlights. No idea why. Pretty good way to start the day though.

Barker was never winning that fight... He was however fighting really well against such a talented counter puncher.

you're crazy! barker busted sergio's nose and teeth and made him spit blood out in the second or third round. sergio tried to giad him but right after every punch barker had his hands up. in fact his defense was really good early on.

I was really impressed with Andy Lee. He looked like shit in the McEwan fight and I thought maybe we would see a replay of what happened in the first fight with Vera but that didn't happen. He fought smart, really did a good job of maintaining the proper distance and was catching Vera all night long with those right hooks and straight lefts.

Barker did a pretty good job but he lost basically all of those rounds on a lack of activity due to his reluctance to open up on the precision counter puncher. Later on he got into some decent exchanges but it's a shame he didn't really try to knock Sergio out so we could see more fireworks out of Sergio in the process. Not a great performance from Sergio but it makes sense why it wasn't. High guard and low output vs. a counter puncher is about the worst stylistic match up there is for entertainment value.

Yeah I was pretty impressed that he was able to bloody him up like that in the second round. They never showed the replay of what did it but it definitely came from a punch.

I don't think Barker was ever winning that fight either. And Martinez always fights with his hands real low and real unorthodox. It has a caused a few knockdowns cause if you hit him at the right moment you can get a him to fall cause he is at real awkward angle not cause you hurt him.

i was there. i don't know boxing like some people, but it was fucking clear as day that sergio was losing the fight after the first 3 or 4 rounds:

Cool pics and stories, bro.

I wound up finding a video of that HW you were talking about.

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DCASSexCiI8?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DCASSexCiI8?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

But in other news from that weekend this guy Proksa looks to be a serious prospect in the middleweight division as he just walked over a somewhat faded, but very solid, and heavily favored, opponent in Sebastien Sylvester.

<object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lRtaCbWobyE?ve ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lRtaCbWobyE?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Hopefully he can get a deal with Top Rank or Goldenboy or something. I'd hate to see him stuck fighting over in Europe like a lot of these guys are.

A 52-year-old boxer wrongly imprisoned for 26 years is fighting his first professional match on Saturday.

Dewey Bozella was convicted of the grisly murder of a 92-year-old New York woman in 1977 on the testimony of two convicted criminals. Since he insisted he was innocent, Bozella refused to admit any remorse over the crime--a gesture that would have secured his earlier release from jail.

It wasn't until the nonprofit Innocence Project intervened and turned over evidence that had been suppressed during Bozella's trial that he was finally freed in 2009. Another man's fingerprint was found at the scene of the crime. That man was later convicted of murdering an elderly woman in a similar way.

Bozella received his bachelor's degree while at Sing Sing, and became its light-heavyweight boxing champion before the gym closed, the New York Times reports.

This Saturday, he will face off against 30-year-old Larry Hopkins. Bozella is believed to be the oldest man to ever box in California.

His journey to the ring hasn't been easy. He failed the first time he tried to get licensed by the California State Athletic Commission. The second time around, he passed the test, with the help of mentors Oscar de la Hoya and Bernard Hopkins.

"I'm not looking for sympathy, just to be looked as a man on the mission; a man who never gave up, and because of that, his dream is now coming true," he told Boxing Scene.

After the fight, he wants to return to his home town of Poughkeepsie and start a boxing gym for young people. The New York gym where he had been training shut down recently, and Bozella is still raising funds to open his own.
You can watch more on his story below:
