Re: ***NBA 2012-2013 SEASON THREAD***
During Monday's B.S. Report Zach Lowe told Bill Simmons:"I've heard through back channels that Courtney Lee has been really unhappy in Boston, because he feels like the whole offense is Rajon Rondo pounding the ball and doesn't get to do anything."
Lee heard about Lowe's comments and the shooting guard used his Twitter account to dispute the report on Wednesday afternoon. Lee tweeted: "Somebody Please tell me who Zach Lowe is??? If your going to report anything about me or go on shows talking about me INTERVIEW ME FIRST!!"
Lee spoke to the Boston Herald and added: “I have no idea who that is. I got a call from my brother and he said, ‘There’s an article about you bashing Rondo and not wanting to be in Boston.’ I was like, ‘That’s the first I ever heard of something like that.’ So the first thing I wanted to do was tweet it, since everyone gets their information these days by social media, and it spreads rapidly.”
Lee may have been on the trade block, but that's likely no longer true as he is now starting in the backcourt with Avery Bradley after the Celtics lost Rondo for the season.

I get the sense that Woj is not head of the Hollinger fan club
PEACE
The Grizzlies issued a statement on the trade late Wednesday, and embarrassingly had "general manager Chris Wallace" throw out the obligatory organizational quotes on the deal. Only, Wallace had nothing to do with the trade. Nothing. He isn't making calls to teams. He isn't consulted by the new regime. He's waiting until they agree on the terms of his inevitable parting. So, Pera and new CEO Jason Levien take an unpopular trade and assign it to Wallace in the news release.
Levien is making these deals based largely on the recommendations of John Hollinger, a statistician who worked for a cable sports company. The San Antonio Spurs once used him as a consultant and regretfully took his advice to sign a free agent named Jackie Butler. It was such a disaster, the Spurs had to attach Luis Scola to a trade to get Butler out of town.

. When Woj hates someone he does not hide it very well. He is great at breaking news though.peanut butter wrote:I get the sense that Woj is not head of the Hollinger fan club

Re: ***NBA 2012-2013 SEASON THREAD***
yea i noticed the stuff he criticizes hollinger for in that article...woj got carried away
speights was one of hollinger's all-time PER man-crushes so i don't buy that this is more about personnel than salary, but at least they got ed davis back (and lost a pick that wouldnt' be better than the 20s, you won't get an ed davis there)

Re: ***NBA 2012-2013 SEASON THREAD***
Gotta remember that its important for Woj to maintain his sources, because thats how he gets his scoops. And for a reporter, a relationship with a player (or more importantly, a player's agent/representative/manager/encourage/etc.) is generally far more fruitful than a relationship with front offices, which are traditionally tight lipped.
So it benefits him more to critique a front office when a popular player gets traded because he is able to stay in the good graces of Gay (and whoever is on his side of the story), rather than vice versa. Because the next time a big story comes around involving Gay or anyone that is down with him in this trade, Woj can fall back on the good press he provided in order to get a scoop. Whereas he could have a great relationship with Hollinger and the new ownership in Memphis and still never get a single fuckin story out of it.
Plus a story in which he fires shots like this is going to get more clicks. So its a win-win(-win?). And I'm not saying all this is exactly true, but it is important to remember that Woj has an angle to all this and its by no mistake that he's become the most influential reporter in the Association.

@ Jet sayin that Ed Davis is a more athletic version of a young ZBo. Big Ed has more athleticism in his pinky than ZBo ever had. And if ZBo had that level of athleticism, he'd be one of the 50 greatest players of all time.
