Important/significant moments in sports you've seen live
Like the title says...most important or significant sporting moment you have seen live. This can be either a moment that is important to you personally (fav team, player, etc) or something like a championship win, record-setting event, etc. Surprisingly for the amount of hockey I watch I don't really have any that I can think of. All my mine are baseball.
September 2008 - Visiting old Yankee stadium for the first time in the final year it was open. This was huge to me as I had always wanted to go but never got around it due to cost/time constraints but I was able to pull it off on my honeymoon.
May 2011 - Saw Verlander throw a no-no against the Jays.
September 2011 - Saw Mariano Riviera break the all-time saves record.

Was at the greatest third baseman of all time's retirement game in 89 as a kiddo.
went and watched them blow up the Vet back in college
Trying to think of what else....saw Utleys first homerun ever. Had tickets to go to Millwoods no-no game and bailed (dumbass).
Saw the Phillies division clincher in 2011 despite slitting my wrist and needing to get 12 stitches only hours earlier in the day.

I saw Fernando Valenzuela pitch a no-hitter against the Cardinals at Chavez Ravine in 1990.
Watched Dennis Martinez of the Expos throw a perfect game against Los Doyers the following year.

I saw Rubio's first and only game in New Jersey.
I saw Ken Griffey Jr.'s first game at Yankee Stadium.
I saw Kobe drop 61 on the Knicks at MSG.
I saw Victor Cruz score the longest TD in NY Giants history against the Jets 2 years ago to propel them to the playoffs.

I was at Shea Stadium for Daryl Strawberry's first at bat (at least, his first home at bat). He struck out three times that game.
Re: Important/significant moments in sports you've seen live
Was at Lambeau field the final week of the 2003 season where the Packers were beating the Broncos bigtime Then the place went crazy when news of the Vikings losing on Nate Poole's final second catch.
Wrestlemania 18 - Hogan vs Rock. The crowd was cheering a heel hogan and booing baby face Rock.
Vince Carter dropping 50 in a playoff game vs the sixers
Cavs vs the Raps. Lebron scored 56 points in a losing effort. He was hitting shots from everywhere.

Re: Important/significant moments in sports you've seen live
When the A's won 20 in a row and Hatteberg hit the walk off. Vibe was so wild. It was a Wednesday, meaning we got $2 dollar seats and $1 hot dogs all night. Now a NY Times Bestseller and climax of a major Hollywood movie. Eff the falling action, that's still my #1.
Last game of the season last year when the A's beat Texass.
Saw Bonds hit his 600th HR live in SF.
The Rose Bowl/National Championship 2006 when Vince Young went crazy (was rooting for Reggie and USC ) but I kicked it w/ some real funny people including Mario Lopez and his lady before the game so it was pretty funny.
Royal Rumble 1998 when new school Kane put Taker in a casket and lit him on fire. I was in 8th grade.
Went to every Aztec game in the 2011 Mtn. West tourney @ The Thomas and Mack in Vegas when we ended up beating Jimmer and them, the last year before those BYU phags went solo. It was right after Charlie Sheen lost his mind and we successfully started warlock/tiger blood related chants that rele caught on w/ the rest of the allums. Feltgoodman.
I seen the San Diego Chicken perform @ a Pad's game, sryusly funny stuff.
and I was real little but the time Minute Bol (R.I.P.) hit three 3 pt. shots in a row, a Young Smiff was there. I was in elementary school and I think it was against the Wolves, don't remember. Never forget the crowd's reaction, though...

Re: Important/significant moments in sports you've seen live
- Twins vs. Tigers Game 163 2009 (also the best moment of my ENTIRE LIFE)
- Frank Thomas's 500th Homerun
- Last baseball game in the Metrodome
- First baseball game at Target Field
- Jim Thome's walk-off homerun (first walk-off homerun at Target Field) for the Twins versus the White Sox in 2010 (also took a YouTube video of it Joe Posnanski later used to write his Sports illustrated cover story on Jim Thome. He literally tells the moment from the exact perspective I saw it and quotes my mom and boyfriend in the article which blew my mind.)
- Joe Nathan's 255th save to become Minnesota Twins all-time saves leader
- A game at Fenway in 2002 Twins vs. Red Sox where Twins won with a homerun over the green monster by David Ortiz (I also thought this was super neat-o because I was 17 years old and my Mom bought me beer)
- Twins vs. White Sox game in 2008 in which Ken Griffey Jr. hit a homerun AND THE FAN WHO CAUGHT IT THREW THE BALL BACK (there was a very audible gasp when this happened and people still talk about it).
- Prince Fielder hit an inside the park home run at Target Field
- The Minnesota Twins Legends game at Target Field in 2010
- The time I actually got Andy Van Slyke to talk to me in-between innings about his ability to chew sunflower seeds and bubble gum at the same time.
- Dunno if this counts but when Rod Carew started crying at the podium during Harmon Killebrew's public memorial service (this is like the saddest thing I have ever seen).
- Every time I have gotten to see Ichiro play (no idea how many times I have but has to be over 20)
- Number retirement ceremonies for Bert Blyleven and Tom Kelly.
- My personal favorite memory at Target Field: When Jacque Jones got a standing ovation at the first MLB exhibition game and did not know what to do and started crying.
I have a lot more and probably a lot I do not remember too. I bet no one even read all that shit. Anyway, I've been to many hundreds of baseball games.
My biggest regret by far is having never seen Barry Bonds play.

Damn that's ill. I still remember when they announced that as the main event for that wrestlemania. My little brother and I were in shock for like 2 days. Match definitely lived up to the hype.
Re: Important/significant moments in sports you've seen live
Me and my pops had tickets to go see the Mariners play the day tiles started falling from the Kingdome ceiling. The game was postponed and we had to fly out the next morning. I was also at Quest field when the Seahawks lost in the playoffs in I think 04 to the Rams. My favorite live sports moment ever was seeing Spurs era Dennis Rodman in 94 dive like 5 rows deep to save a live ball from going out of bounds against the Sonics in a meaningless regular season game. He got it back to The Admiral half a second before he crashed into a bunch of old folks in the front rows. I was like 30 feet away, and it was awesome.

I also saw Jerry Rice catch a touchdown pass, one of his last in the NFL. It was during the brief stint he spent with the Seahawks, and he was pushing 40, but it was still a thing of beauty.
