Not if they are your best players. I'm keeping at least that many in the other keeper league

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
Can you make the draft start at 10pm?
Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
I second that. Even with good traffic I get home at the earliest at 930 est.

Dwight and I made a trade. Starlin for Starling.

You didn't need another SS and now you get a .270 hitter with a little pop and should swipe at least 25-30 bags.

so yeah, Sherzer or anyone else available in the right trade.Gregg Popabitch wrote:Fuck your bidding war, bro.

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
Anyone interested in
Giancarlo Stanton, Brian McCann, Dom Brown, David Wright, Ellsbury, Cespedes or Rafael Soriano?
If I trade Stanton I need power in return, preferably in a 1B. I am also looking for a SS. If I trade Wright, I'll need another 3B in return of lesser value but somebody else to make up the difference.
My needs are 1B, SS, SP

Prob an obvious question. But gloss and I were talking who you would rather in keeper, Giancarlo "don't call me mike" Stanton or chris Davis?

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
He is 5 years younger, more athletic, more power and hasn't even come close to his prime years. Davis, while impressed all of us last year, is someone who could either be really great, or regress and drop his BA about 20 points off from where it was in '13. They're both studs, but I would think if there was some list of the best keepers in baseball, Stanton would not only rank higher than Davis, but he might be top 5 when you consider just how young and how much potential he has. I feel like Davis we saw him peak and now he'll more less be the same guy give or take a power numbers for the next 3 years before he becomes Justin Morneau of today.
Curious as to what everyones says. He is just asking who would you rather have in a keeper league. This doesn't mean we are trading.

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
If I'm trying to win in the next two or three years, it's Davis. They are only 3 years apart in age.
Stanton is still hype at this point. An enormous talent but can't stay healthy. He's only played more than 123 games once in 4 full seasons.
This might be what he is at this point. a .260ish 35HR guy. Still a great, valuable player but if you can't stay on the field you can't get the counting stats that the big sluggers rack up.
Stantons never even gotten 80 Runs or more than 87 RBIs, and thats drastically reduces his value.
He'd probably go in the 2nd or 3rd round in a dynasty league.

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
I don't trust Davis, and his indicators support that. Best case scenario, he's going into the midst of a string of seasons similar to the ones that Ryan Howard had at his peak. Worst case scenario he is pretty much Brandon Moss. That volatility scares the shit out of me, and I pass on him every year in fantasy because of that. I believe that Stanton is the real deal, but until he stays healthy and plays for a team other than the Marlins, he's a limited fantasy player as well. But I'd bet on the well-rounded rounded skill set of Stanton, plus his relative youth and upside, rather than hoping again that everything falls perfectly for Davis' one skill to shine.

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
This is fantasy though, not who's more valuable in real life.
Davis had more than twice as many RBI's as Stanton last year (138 to 62!), in only 80 more at bats. That alone makes him worth taking several rounds earlier.
41 more runs. Batting average has been about 10 points higher the last two years as well. Both strike out a ton.
And again, he's only 3 years older and entering his prime seasons. Stantons upside is basically what Davis did last year.
They are pretty similar players, but one has never proven he can stay on the field, and one has already achieved his upside once.
Fantasy wise, its not a question.

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
A lot of people discount the adjustments Davis made to improve. It's not like he improved by taking steroids. These were fundamental changes to his approach that are sustainable.
That and that Stanton can't hit much outside his hot zone and that he plays for the marlins makes him(davis) way more valuable in fantasy to me.

Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
No doubt. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole Tommy Bunz real name is Gordon thing, so you could have been in the league for all I knew.
Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
Yes that's what I've heard.
Re: Keeper League Jr. (2014)
If he's eligible now, he will be all year.
Looks like a few of us could be getting quite the bump in draft ranking as only a half dozen people have paid so far. Would be a shame. Not a huge gain actually, would be a bigger deal if this wasn't a keeper league. Not a big difference in value in the first round of non-keepers. Last year I got my top two choices 1st pick and 28th pick.
