It's troubling with the lack of support Raines gets. After Rickey there has never been a more dominating leadoff hitter.

Breaking: Longoria traded for left handed pitchers mound and a Ricky Nolasco to be named later.

As much as this probably sucks it was the right move. Zobrist will be 34 at the start of the season and the Rays weren't going to pay him in free agency.

Tampa's depleted roster coming in last place is the only thing I feel comfortable predicting about the AL East for 2015.

Oh, I completely agree I'm just saying that the team is blowing shit up right now and nothing at this point would surprise me.

as it sits now, it looks like any one of the other 4 teams can win the division. just depends on who gets the breaks.

scherz wants that 200 mill deal which i think is absolutely crazy, and obviously most teams do too. shields is probably waiting for scherz to sign so his value goes up a couple mill.

Saw a report recently that a Tigers official said they really wanted Scherzer back. I wonder if the owners desperation to win a title in the face of impending doom, plus the decline of Verlander and the older roster built to win now will be enough cause for the Tigers to re-sign him.

I've been following too. I really enjoy Patrick Dubuque, and his writing makes the tournament much more enjoyable.

I stopped collecting cards at the end of the 1988 season, so those oversized Bowman's weren't on my radar. I did, however miss out on Upper Deck's entrance into the market. Started collecting again 1990 and bought a few packs of the '89 UD when I could afford them, but never touched those Bowman's.

Sportflics were cool, even though you only got 3 cards in a pack. They were practically indestructible.

Is the Griffey Upper Deck RC the greatest baseball card of all time (excluding the Honus Wagner, of course)

Upper Deck Griffey RC is definitely the Illmatic of cards. Classic debut of a prodigious talent, featuring a simple design, which changed the game forever.

Yunel Escobar in Oakland for 15 minutes, before being redirected to Washington in return for Clippard. I wonder if this means that Desmond is available from the Nationals.

Regardless, I actually think I kinda like what Beane is doing this offseason. It's totally batshit crazy, but at least its fun
