Rapist, are you as stoked about Weeden's arm talent as Jerry is?

I'm cautiously optimistic about the whole situation. The o line will hold things down and the running game will remain efficient. Weeden was 7 for 7 with a TD and no ints on Sunday btw. Furthermore, in Week 5 hardy, Gregory, and McClain will all be back. Dallas defense is gonna be something serious.

The Colts offense looked like shit, but Moncrief's continued great play is a good sign, they'll settle in (especially if they realize 81 is done and keep him off the field as much as possible).
True about the depleted secondary, but you gotta give Todd Bowles a ton of credit for the job he's done. The Jets actually look like...a team. They have identity, and attitude. The scheme and personnel match, they didn't just say fuck it we'll try the 3-4 this year. That defense looked top notch.

re colts
the oline actually didnt look bad just not great all the time. a lot of that shit was just flat out good coverage from the nyj d and a lot of the frustration came when they were merely 10 pts down and they decided to abandon the theretofore effective run game which is a :wtf: decision. did the oline get beat from time to time? yeah. but thats just a good game against a good d. also andrew luck presumably not giving a shit about the occasional obvious outside blitzer is questionable and odd.

and part of the run game woes were just that the backup rbs play like backup rbs and gore isnt playing the bell cow role. josh robinson is just a rookie but im guessing hes on his way to being a solid #1 rb for them.

re nyj
agreed with video; shit is actually a real team. soooo much credit to bowles.
for what its worth i dont think its fair to say marshall was exactly blanketed by vontae davis. he got coverage penalties on every db he faced including vontae; he beat vontae mid-deep a few times; fitzpatrick not quite on point all the time with his targets; the only thing the backups gave up that vontae did well on was covering slants

Browns are seriously idiots for benching Manziel.

Do they really think 36-year-old McCown is going to take them to the playoffs?

Why not give the kid a chance to develop and see what they have with him?

Seems like an idiot decision, but not strange for a team that has had 80 different QBs in the last decade.

benching manziel at this point in the season/his career might actually be the best for his development. they will likely start johnny later this season to see if they need to move on from him or not. for now he needs to demonstrate his continued willingness to work hard every day, walk the line and earn his way.

J football had some cool plays but they were more a product of Benjamin than anything else. If you watch those 2 games, you'll see that Manziel looked lost out there. Browns brass think they are still in position to make a playoff push. They see Manziel everyday in practice, it says a lot that they aren't willing to roll with him....yet

I don't know why, but I love seeing that dude fail. I think it has something to do with him being an immature d-bag though.

You rarely see fire sales in the NFL, but the Bears are looking to trade Forte for picks

Props to Fox tho for identifying his team for what it is.... and having the balls to concede it's time to rebuild. He's doing it the right way as opposed to other clubs that try to add pieces while their vets deteriorate and get frustrated

Its true, but don't know why they would want to move Alshon though? He's young. Unless he's asking out himself.

The only thing I can think of is that his value is high right now, and they don't want to risk him getting injured again and having it be a serious injury? If they ship him off now for draft picks they can grab a couple guys to develop who might not be quite as good, but they'll have a better WR corps than they would if they just had Alshon and whoever they can scrape together.

He also might want out, and I wouldn't blame him one bit.
