Some tradition in this division, along with some chumps, who gets this gimme playoff spot?

It makes sense really but being a Bears fan I still am negative.
Defense is intact...may have even improved with experience and the addition of Manning.
Offense is infinetly better because Orton is gone and either Rex or Griese should be more than enough. We have 2 RB's.....and NO WR's...all in all we are better than last year plus we have the easiest schedule. SO:
More of this:
Less of this:
should equal atleast 11-5....must get a playoff win.

i'll be the homer.
as was already said, the bears will inevitibly have a losing season after last years winning season, so they're out. they will be riddled with injuries on defense, and rex grossman will break his arm high fiving thomas jones after he completes a first down to him during the first drive against the packers in week one. meanwhile, the other three teams all have first year coaches and are a crapshoot. detroit still has millen as GM, so the football gods who frown upon him will destine them to another loser, while the vikings will start out 7-1, only to finish the second half 1-7 in true viking form. the pack, who have the second coming of ray nitschke in AJ hawk, will have an up and down season, but will win the division with a 9-7 record.

Aren't the packers starting two rooks on their o-line? Favre is gonna wish he retired. He's not playing on Sunday night is he? Madden gets all Dickie-V on him and its just awful.
The Lions, I think, will use the endless criticism and turn into a halfway decent squad, one that will take games from da Bears and the vikes.
Bears are the pick, but they will still be only halfway decent.

every team in the division has major flaws, but none so many as the lions. they don't have a single dominant unit, and the only real difference maker on either side of the ball is dre bly. i think kevin jones still could develop into one but i'm not holding my breath. either way i'd be shocked if they won 8, let alone the division.T-Wrex wrote:I'm here. I think Bear's O is weak. D is mad strong. Bad draft. Hester? LOL.
I think GB is still crap. Bad draft, bad free agency. Farve is old.
Vikings have an amazing half of an O line. Everything else is suspect.
voted the bears because they're the only team that doesn't suck.

Shaun Rogers isn't a difference maker? Best DT in the division.uh zip zoom wrote:every team in the division has major flaws, but none so many as the lions. they don't have a single dominant unit, and the only real difference maker on either side of the ball is dre bly. i think kevin jones still could develop into one but i'm not holding my breath. either way i'd be shocked if they won 8, let alone the division.T-Wrex wrote:I'm here. Roy Williams isn't a difference maker? Best WR in the division.
What about Mike Martz and Rod Marinelli?
Faulk speaks highly of Mad Mike and Simeon Rice and Sapp loved Rod (no homo). Donnie Henderson is only here until Joe Berry comes over to be the D coordinator, and he's not too shabby. Jets defence were 6th last year in big games allowed with only 2 100 yard rushing games against 'em. Chuck Prefier is a solid ST coach, Drummond is a pro-bowl returner and Harris led the league with punts inside the 20. In this division, field position is gold and we've got the icy shit.
I think we've got the best staff in the NFC North.

rogers is an important piece, but i don't think he has fulfilled his potential yet. he might get there this year. same with williams. and i'd still take donald driver over him, but you could make the argument for roy. either way, being the best wr in the nfc north doesn't mean shit.T-Wrex wrote:Shaun Rogers isn't a difference maker? i only moved out of the detroit area about three months ago so i've heard all the stories about how martz is a genius and marinelli is the ultimate motivator and all that. martz has run some great offenses in his time, but that was with a lot better personnel than he has now. marinelli has never been a head coach before so you should wait a bit for the coach of the year nomination, no matter what simeon rice has to say about him.
the point is, the lions have some nice pieces but as of right now i'd say they have more problems than solutions. i've watched them way too long to have any faith.
