I'm happy that an otherwise awful couple weeks of boxing ended on a high note with Cotto's performance. I'm usually a Klitschko defender but Wlad put on a disgraceful performance even if he was utterly dominant. He's been doing that shit for a while now but tonight it was borderline comical with how much shit he was getting away with.

I'm cheering for Marquez to knock him out.

I don't see why not. Especially if Tim's beard is diminished from his bout with Provodnikov. Bradley is a hard-charging fighter with a relentless demeanor but little power. Didn't Marquez already solve this puzzle with Juan Diaz? Bradley leaves himself open and Marquez can be surgical with well placed shots.
Then again, Bradley has gotten off the canvas to win more than once.

I'm also hyped to see Lomachenko in his first legit professional fight on the undercard as well.
He's fighting Jose Ramirez (25-3) in a scheduled ten rounder.

The Mexican - Puerto Rican rivalry is going to be at fever pitch this weekend.
Pink gloves too.
Too bad Cruz is most likely getting KO'd here, I'd enjoy seeing the reaction from both sides if he were to win.

Lomachenko looks legit. That left hook to the solar plexus is devastating.

Wait a second, is Bradley just plain outboxing Marquez? Landing the jab, slipping counters, good movement, controlling the pace...
Marquez sort of looks lost. Dare I say old.

What do you guys make of the news that Lomachenko is facing Salido next in a title fight? Too early?

Not a huge fan of either (even though I've watched Provodnikov graduate from the ESPN FNF circuit), but I think Alvarado should be able to outbox him. The same way he outboxed Rios in their second bout.
Shit's going to get ugly no matter how it goes down.

provo was unstoppable. mikey tried to box him but provodnikov was relentless and could only keep him at bay for so long. good fight, not great. but definitively the best fight i've seen in a while. i can't really think of the last good fight i've seen this year. maybe provo vs. bradley?

It was a good fight with a great performance from Provodnikov. Thus far I would have to agree that Bradley Provodnikov, which was a GREAT fight, would have to be fight of the year. Rios Alvarado 2 was a good fight as well. Figueroa Arakawa was good too but wasn't really close enough to create the kind of drama seen in past FOTYs.

yeah, i thought that figueroa arakawa fight was good too. really entertaining for a lopsided fight but totally agree with you on that. i know i'm forgetting lots of good fights from earlier this year. this has been a really good year in boxing. a lot of the fights that needed to get made got done.

i'm not sure any of those fights are going to be good and/or competitive. i'm hoping i'm wrong though. boxing does tend to surprise. i'm looking forward to martinez's destruction at the hands of garcia. should be good. that guy keeps on getting gifts.

Pacman's boxing hasn't looked this sweet since the David Diaz fight
Granted, it was against Brandon Rios, but:
