I mostly agree with stupidregister here. Remy is definitely the better of the two players right now, and he was miles better last year. Welbeck is a tremendously positive player though, he does put in the effort, and is a better overall athlete. He's a younger player than could develop into a great striker, not sure I see it happening however. Don't blame Arsenal for taking a shot on him, but obviously not a landmark signing the way that Falcao or Di Maria were.

Not surprised that Spurs didn't do anything major. I'm still interested to see how the team plays together over the course of the season. This isn't a year they have a reasonable expectation of contending for the league anyway. A fourth place finish would be the absolute best they can hope for.

I really hate the early international breaks, unavoidable though they are. England looked terrible against Norway. They're a team that doesn't seem to have any idea how to play together, there's no overall team philosophy in place.

Of course Sturridge gets hurt on international duty.

Great player, but just can't stay fit.

Liverpool are now a Balotelli red card away from not having a proper starting forward.

they didn't keep borini as much as he refused to leave.

sadly that isn't a joke and he might actually see game time.

To be fair, the whole squad was shit. But Wenger isnt going to win in Dortmund with this kind of setup:

Welbdinho did pretty well yesterday which was reassuring. Weird game though.

Great win for West Ham too. I enjoyed that a lot. Liverpool are going to be the most interesting team to follow this year I think in terms of trying to figure out exactly how good their 10 new players are and what the hell the carsalesman in charge intends to do with them.

B-Rod hasn't really brought anyone in who has performed consistently except for Sturridge but jury is still out on the new cull.

Lamela absolutely excels at kicking the ball into a defenders' feet. It's a staggering level of talent.

Blame LVG. Only cares about going forward.

You spent how much in the window, and how much on backline.

I would love to see the wages for Falcao, Rvp, Rooney, Di Maria vs the back 4.

LVG def screwed the pooch today. I don't know how a man can masturbate over 3 at the back and play it against a team where it's not necessary (i.e. a team with 1 striker such as Swansea), then refuse to play it against a team flooding your half when you're 3-1 up.

And it's not like they didnt have the players. 60th minute, you take off RVP & Falcao, put Shaw and Fletcher on, your formation now becomes

Rafael - Smalling - Blackett - Rojo - Shaw
Blind - Herrera - Fletcher
Di Maria
Rooney

and you dominate possession and grind the game out for the last 30 minutes. Instead you end up conceding 4 goals. Yes, the referee was a fucking abomination, but jesus, it's no excuse at this level. Reminded me of Rodgers against Crystal Palace last season.

Thank fuck we're not in Europe this year. If fucking Leicester did this to us, I could only imagine what Bayern/Real/Barca would.

As for buying defenders, there's a serious dearth of quality centre backs at the minute. I know LVG is kicking himself that by the time he arrived, Vidic had already signed elsewhere. He'd have been perfect for this transitional period. What I wouldn't give for a Gary Pallister right now...

I don't blame Rodgers going for it at Crystal Palace last year, goal diff was the only chance Pool had after losing to Chelsea. It was the Victor Mose sub after conceding that pissed me off.

For the record, BR has really shit the bed this year. Results and injuries aside, his team selections have left something to be desired.

Would love to see United set up as

Rojo - Smalling - Blackett - Shaw
Blind - Fletcher
Januzaj - Rooney - Di Maria
Falcao

Not counting Di Maria, I still feel United lack pace going forward.

Dear CQ,

As the expert on all things Arsenal here, I was wondering if you could help me figure something out: can you draw every match and still make the Top 4? Eagerly awaiting your reply.

Happy with the result. Thought for sure we were going to get our asses handed to us today. Defending was pretty good and Kaboul was great.

Well we've been drawing every match and we're 4th right now. So yes, apparently.

Disastrous that we let Spurs take two points from us considering the circumstances. Kaboul and Lloris kept them in the game while we had too many half chances and did little with them.

Still see it as I did in the summer:

1: Chelsea
2: City
3: Arsenal
4: Liverpool/United

Loving watching West Ham this season. Best team we've had in years.

I know Manchester United were down to 10 men, but watching them cling on to a 2-1 lead at Old Trafford was a rare treat.
