Re: NHL 2014/15
Love the return the Jets got for Kane. Can't believe it really...
Re: NHL 2014/15
considering everyone knew kane was on the outs, which generally reduces a team's bargaining position it could be a good haul, but they did give up 2 proven pros for a lot of potential though. if myers comes up like everyone thinks he can then i think they definitely got the better of it.Positive A wrote:Love the return the Jets got for Kane. Re: NHL 2014/15
I think the Jets got a great deal. Especially when you consider that it's Kevin Cheveldayoff, a GM who hasn't made a trade yet in 4 seasons.

The Leafs
So much heartache the last decade. This year takes the cake though. What a collection of assholes.

Big game tonight. Minny in town to play the Flames. Flames win and we got 6 pts of space between us and the Wild. Wild win and they are a mere two points out. Dubnyk has been playing lights out and Minnesota has the best record in the NHL over the last 10 games. Should be a good one.

Hey, by the way who's Curt?
Re: NHL 2014/15
Fuckin Dubnyk...we had the pressure on and tied it up but caught a bad one in OT. At least we got a point though and moved above Vancouver so it wasn't all bad.
Re: NHL 2014/15
Dubnyk's run is fucking amazing. That guy played horribly in Edmonton, albeit with some shitty defense and all other parts of the team. I'd met him numerous times, and he was always a nice dude, no matter how bad they lost. Media and the fans always wanted him to break out with his size, and after being traded to like 3 or 4 teams he's finally doing it. That could be one of the nest storylines of the season.
Buy my mixtape.
Re: NHL 2014/15
Toronto managed the miraculous task of offloading David Clarkson's contract by trading him to Columbus for Nathan Horton. Really there's no hockey justification for the move, and it's purely about money/cap:
-Nathan Horton is injured and can't play- and may never play again
-Columbus is paying him $5m+ per season because his contract in uninsured
-As a small market team, CBJ can't afford to pay big money to a guy that's not playing hockey
-Instead, after this trade, they're paying $5m for a roster player/reclamation project
-Toronto is a huge market that can pay Horton's contract without feeling a thing
-They get out from under Clarkson's cap hit and LTIR Horton, freeing up $5m in cap space
Reasonable move for Columbus, genius move for Toronto. Wish Columbus would've called Philly, though. They could've taken their pick of 5 or 6 bad contracts.

Flames and Minny tonight. We need to derail that Dubnyk train if we have a hope for the playoffs.

you may need it a little more than us...but it's do or die timeKiran187 wrote:Flames and Minny tonight. We need to derail that Dubnyk train if we have a hope for the playoffs.
we need points

Re: NHL 2014/15
well, at least the sharks don't have to worry about collapsing in the playoffs again...
Re: NHL 2014/15
LOl that team is such a disaster. There's no way McLellan has a job after this season. The real question is if they stay with Marleau and Thornton or blow it up and go another direction.
Re: NHL 2014/15
Marleau and Thornton have to go. Or at least one of them. They have a decent amount of young talent. Maybe they could get some cheaper veterans and fill some positions.
Buy my mixtape.

I watched maybe 5 Sharks games this year. Fuck them. I grew up playing hockey and I can't stand to watch it much now thanks to these assholes

you're acting like they're the maple leafs. they're not that bad. sure, they should have probably made the playoffs, but they'd just lose in the first round anyways. at least this saves them that hassle.
but i will agree, it's time for some changes. the old guys gotta go. time to transition to some younger fellas.
Re: NHL 2014/15
also, big ups to the flames and jets for making the playoffs. now ottawa just needs one more win and we got 5 canadian teams in the dance.
