Started working my way through Ken Burns' Baseball. I've never seen the whole thing in it's entirety.

I just got great news from Baseball-Reference. They're going to add my autograph site to their site. So, any player I have an autograph of will have a link from that player's reference page back to my site.

Thanks! I've noticed a few players have already started having my links show up. They'll be in the Player News section.

Can they give you a free ad on there? Maybe we can sponsor a player like Chase Utley and say some wonderful things about him?

Looks like the Pads are the favorite to sign Shields, which would make them undisputed Champs of the Offseason by TKO

Guess That Projection Pt. III:
31 GS, 12 wins, 9 losses, 207 Ks, 10.4 K/9, 1.03 WHIP, 2.65 ERA, 2.77 FIP, 4 WAR
Comparables: Yovani Gallardo, Mark Prior, Jake Peavy

Jesus. Harvey was my first guess, but that start total seems too optimistic and those projected numbers are basically a Cy Young winning season and now as I'm typing I'm gonna say Kluber.

PECOTA basically doesnt acknowledge Harvey, because of his limited track record. Expects him to dominate, but only start like seven games. Just a blindspot of computer projections, that cant digest TJ injuries.

Alternatively, the projections for Kluber are fucking brutal. Check this shit out:
30 starts, 11 wins, 10 losses, 181 Ks, 9 K/9, 1.3 WHIP, 3.99 ERA, 3.72 FIP, 1.4 WAR
Comps: Wade LeBlanc, Marco Estrada, Rich Hill

And in fairness, though last year was amazing, its reasonable to doubt a 29 year old who has no previous track record of success.

Completely agree but those numbers and comparables are sorta jarring, so I'm sorta at a loss. I guess Kershaw is the only one who could reasonably be projected for that kinda season once PECOTA pessimism is factored in.

If it's not him, I fuckin' quit.

Kershaw:
25 GS, 12-7 W/L, 191 K, 9.6 K/9, 0.94 WHIP, 2.17 ERA, 2.67 FIP, 5 WAR
Comps: Felix, Timmy, Rich Harden

Three Cy Young winners were drafted in the first round of the 2006 MLB draft. Who were they?

Timmy and Max are two. They were the 10th and 11th picks.

Kluber was picked in the fourth round of 2007

With that high k/9 its gotta be Sale or Sherzer then.
And the low win total makes me think its Sale.

If I was a royals fan I'd be fucking pissed that my team could have resigned Shields for the same amount of money they wasted on two bums (Volquez & Morales).
