Tough break for the Snowcones. This is a fun league. I'm looking forward to a pic of the trophy and the Muff.
I met up with Jredd at an Oilers game and talked about this league a few weeks ago. The topic was more interesting than the Oilers getting beat down by the Sharks.
Hat's off to Pos A for putting this league together!

Anyone interested in a $20 buy in next year?

i batted the idea of a money league around when we started this up, but there was little to no interest. But you don't have to ask me twice to make this a money league. I'll do it no probs.

I'm on stay-cation at the moment, so the trophy will be made and engraved by the finest metal workers this side of Westeros very soon. We tried to get Peter North Stars to post a pic last year, but no dice. Sent him a ballin'-ass Mooseheads Mem Cup TShirt too lol.

i dont know shit about hockey so i wouldn't want to just throw away money. i would probably bail. but that should prevent any of you from doing it if you want.

If we were going to make this a money league, EVERYONE would have to be ok with it. If not, then we simply won't do it. I'd rather have the GM's we have already in place. So it has to be a unanimous decision. On some 12 Angry Men steeze.

i know charlestown chiefs won't play for money either. he's poor and his team sucks. haha.

i could go either way. i like playing for the pride of it. and the trophy is better than a wad of cash. in the long run.

you know what i don't get. i am pretty active. made tons of moves and always set my line-ups yet, my team was horrible. i realize its because i had 1/4 of the entire flyers roster but still, if you don't have a top goalie you are fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.

Muff Divers and I were always talking about how you were still making roster moves and playing the game every day even though you were near the bottom of the standings. It's appreciated and good to see. Nothing worse than fantasy abandonment.

snow cones said he'd trade a goalie. might cost you a keeper and a pick or the damaja though.

my goaltending is horseshit as well.

Crawford is average (but he gets wins cause blackhawks). I only reached the playoffs and won the first round because of Ortio/Ramo. Which in hindsight sounds insane. But I caught lightning in a bottle. Then Ramo fucks around and gets a shutout the week after I'm bounced.

Trade has been made:

Kneed Before Saad sends 1st rounder to SnoCones for Tuukka Rask.

Ya the goalies are very important in this league. I didn't really go too deep with goalies and ended up chasing a legit starter for the better half of the season. At least with the way we structure the league in terms of keepers there will be opportunities to pick up goalies next season. As far as the money goes, I'm down to throw some cash in, but I agree with Pos A about only doing it if everyone else is with it too.

I didn't expect him to say yes. I was contemplating a 1 AND a 2 but thought I'd test the waters with just a 1. Surprised.

i told Nick P the guy who u traded and he was happy he just has 2 first round picks. i think the fact there is no $ involved makes much of this inconsequential.

Yeah very true. And he's always been talking about needing forwards. So he can stock up.

IMO, Tuukka could be the mvp of the Fantasy league this season. If it's me, I hold on to Tuukka like grim death. Niemi is gonna be Niemi next season, but Bishop is still unproven. He had a great year, but we'll see what happens next season. If they put up the same kind of numbers as they did this year, then SnoCones will make out fine in this deal.

The thing is Rask that makes him such a good pickup is that he is not only a dope goalie but he plays with a great team so your chances of good stats for him are so big. Not to mention that Boston is usually #1 or #2 for team +/- so you know Claude Julien has everyone on the team buying into playing strong two-way hockey.
