Real talk. Chicago is one of the most racially segregated cities in the country, where gentrification literally creates dividing lines in the city where poor people are pushed out of the neighborhoods that their families have lived in for decades so that they can be renovated and rented out to white people at higher rates. this forces lots of poor people to live together that wouldn't have other wise. Think of: The Wire when they tear down the towers and rival gang members are forced to share a new neighborhood, this is why there is so much violence in Chicago, cause lots and lots of poor people are forced to live together who knowing don't like each other. this only breeds an environment of crime, drugs, and gang activity, that is largely ignored by city officials/funding that would help to change the situation. and don't get my started on Chicago PD, they will give LAPD a run for their money as the most crooked bunch of fucks in the whole country.Big Breeze wrote:Truth.naturalborn103 wrote:

white people ride the red line, the brown line, and the blue line. I rode the green line a handful of times to go to a horticulture class i had on the westside that was held in a greenhouse, and was literally the only white dude on the train every time. only rode the redline south past 35 St once (aka where the White Sox stadium is) and that was by mistake. the racial tension is the city is palpable, and very real. my friends from NYC comment on how "midwest" the city feels because of it.
