in a victory pool, picked seattle and baltimore the first two weeks.

any teams people really like for week 3? i'm leaning towards pittsburgh and i don't want to pick the pats quite yet. beyond those two it seems like a lot of close calls.

thoughts?

about 80, unfortunately.

was pissed this past week because half the field picked either jacksonville or denver.

hmm kind of a tough week...

Jets over Miami at home?
Philly over Detroit at home?

On one hand it's a bit of a waste taking NE at home over Buffalo, on the other hand I have a hard time passing up sure things in these. I understand saving teams but when you can take a team and be almost 100% sure you'll still be in it the next week - that's tough to pass on.

yeah thats tough this week a lot of tough early matchups The pats are a choice here even if it seems like the suckers bet. They will win its just a question of by how much. I prolly would take Carolina or Baltimore

What sportsbook are you using? Because you may want to think about opening accounts at other books and do some line shopping, especially if you're eating chalk most of the time. At a lot of other books right now, you can get Philly at -5.5, Chargers at -5, and Indy at -6.

I tend to play a lot of dogs so I'm almost inclined to open an account where you are betting at to take advantage of those lines.

stay away from betus.com fam. they are a scam book. they dont like to pay when you win a significant amount and when they do its 2 months later. besides being rated a D+ book you cant even play parlays with the bonuses they give you. Them cocksuckas also change the lines on you based on how you bet every week. Throw your money away if you want, but dont say i didnt warn you

these are reviews of pretty much every book

Lock of the week last week (and overall): 0-1

I don't really like any of the games this week, but I'll make my picks.

Detroit +6 at Philadelphia
Minnesota +3 at Kansas City
Cincinnati +3.5 at Seattle
San Diego -5 at Green Bay

Lock of the Week
Carolina -3.5 at Atlanta

bet on sports and betus are the same thing, yet they have two diff ranks. honestly people say shit about EVERY sportsbook and a lot of it are people working in those sportbooks trying to sway business. i don't bet a lot and i really like the conveniences of betus. i can phone in a bet in two seconds or log in. plus the lines seem pretty fair. the eagles line dropped, but i took it early.

oh well thats what happens when u throw in a bet 3 days before the game.

yeah I hear you with the convenience, Im waiting for a payout from them...so I talk from experience. There are mad threads on the rx forum too about how bad they are with business. anyway...to the games this week.

Lines taken from BetJamaica:

SF (+9.5) @ Pittsburgh. I think Gore and Willie Parker will keep this game low scoring and close by getting a lot of work in this game. Nate Clemens should at least make Pitt and Ben Roethlisberger respect whatever side of the field he is on. I watched most of that Bills/Steelers game last week and Pitt had a hard time scoring on an extremely mediocre Bills Defense even in the red zone in the first three quarters. The key for SF is Vernon Davis, if he gets involved early and often, Niners pull off the "upset."

Carolina (-3.5) @ Atlanta
Deadskins (-3.5) at home against Giants
Rams (+3.5) @ Tampa

Lock of the Week

Colts (-6) @ Houston
Look for the Colts to bounce back offensively from last week. Looking for the colts D to stuff the box and force Schaub to make plays without his top receiver. Indy 31 Texans 10

slightly late...

panthers (-4) 1u
bengals (+3) 1u
jets (-3) 1u
bills (+17) 2u

colts (-1)/ravens (-1.5) 2u

didn't mean to have 2u on the bills, but i drunkenly bet it last night for a unit, and forgot this morning, and bet it again..lol..

i've also decided to always bet double on teasers. i have a good record on them over the past 2 years, and figued it's +ev to bet 2 units until evidence proves me wrong..

I'm not gonna look at this thread again. I'm starting to get ideas and due to my addictive personality, I don't wanna end up with my legs broken or on the back of a milk carton.

Speaking of which - where is that Choke, dude? I expected to see him all over this thread. I know he's the #1 degenerate gambler on PF and it's been awhile since I've seen him post.

Well I went 3-2-1 this week on my picks, but didn't feel confident in any of the games to make a wager. We'll see what next week holds.

Yeah which is totally awesome in a suicide pool.

I went 3-1-1 yesterday, sweeping 2 4 o'clock games and the sunday nighter.
