Clean house. Bylsma's system that he runs is not going to work in he playoffs. It is useless in a trap. They have to make personnel changes too. They are the softest team on the planet. They need some size and grit. They have none. I am hearing rumors that Shero's job is in jeopardy too.

Thornton looks like he needs to be put down.
Credit to the man though, he had a great regular season, as usual.

Pens/Rangers second period was awesome. I couldn't believe the Penguins weren't scoring. The third wasn't so great. That had a lot to do with Lundquist and the Rangers D. They way they clogged the net was ridiculously frustrating to watch. Solid work.

I don't think you gotta blow up the Pens, but you gotta do something. I think trading Malkin could be good given his value, and it's been a good run.

The only thing is that the supporting cast becomes a bit of a waste. If you trade Malkin then Neal is definitely going to see a dip in production and then you have guy who's making $5mill a year and getting half the points he was before. Plus, the return has to be pretty exceptional for Malkin. Even though he wasn't great in the playoffs he's still easily in the top 5 as current best players in the world.

Kiran187 wrote:Ya Pittsburgh needs solid defense, trading for more scorers or different scorers doesn't do much. Crosby and Malkin weren't great but I think trading one of them (probably Malkin) for a legit #1 shutdown d-man and maybe some secondary scoring would help. Bylsma should be gone too. Ever since 2009 his playoff record is pretty mediocre for the talent he has on that team. Random, would you rather turf the coach and management or make moves within the lineup?

Props to Minnesota for getting as far as they got and peace to the gawds Capable Kel and Homer Simpson. They have improved each year since the Suter and Parise signings and have really developed some great assets like Niederreiter, Haula etc. Yeo is a pretty decent coach as well. I think they are definitely on the right track to keep pushing forward. Question for the Minnesota fans: Is their biggest move in the off season to land a bonafide #1 goalie or do they ride with Mr. Universe?
i'm pining my hopes on seeing Kuemper becoming the #1.

garth snow is pretty stupid. you could probably get tavares and okposo without giving up malkin at all.

Neal had a terrible year play on Malkin's line. It doesn't matter who his center is, he is going to be terrible. Dude is one dimensional and a fucking asshole. From what I was reading of all the guys to get rid of, Neal is going to be the easiest, because his NTC doesn't kick in until 2015. So this would be the year to move him. I am pretty sure that he will be the first to go before they would trade Malkin. They also have a couple buy outs that they can use, so we may see that happen also.

I don't want to see them move Malkin, but they might have to.

Shero and Bylsma both fired.

:icedit:

I guess only Shero has been fired. Bylsma is still here for now.

wow crazy that Shero got let go before Bylsma but I guess that gives the new GM the option of keeping him or bringing in a new coach.

Also, TSN was reporting last night that Doug Wilson has said they will not be attempting to re-sign Dan Boyle and are looking to get rid of Martin Havlat as well.

It is ridiculous that they are going to keep Bylsma in purgatory like this. Just fire the poor bastard. They are fucking this up so bad. Jesus Christ.

I understand letting the GM make the decision on the coach, but I'm not a proponent of it in this case. Don't take the chance of the new GM coming in and immediately losing the fanbase by keeping Bylsma on board.

Also, speaking of fucking up, the Erik Gustafsson just signed with Avangard Omsk of the KHL. The Flyers mismanaged the fuck outta him. He wasn't a great defenseman by any means, but he was a cheap, reliable bottom-pairing guy with offensive upside that got relegated to the press box more often than he deserved.

Damn LA just the put the pedal to the floor tonight. Totally different team the last 2 games. Chicago-LA is gonna be dope. I'm not even sure yet who I would pick to win. Respect to the gawd Teemu Selanne. Hell of a career and a nice send-off by both the Kings and the Ducks at the end of the game.

I think I agree with you.

Both series have the potential to be classics.

Lundy v Price is so damn good. Puck about to drop. BBQ on. Beer flowing. Leggo.
