Worst National TV Sports Announcer/Color Guy of the Decade

Some of these guys don't know shit, some sound like shit, and some fall under both umbrellas.

Let's select the worst of the worst national sportscaster of the decade. He can be the most annoying or least informative, it's up to you.

The only stipulation is that they work national games (that's why no John Sterling) and actually call games (that's why no Emmit or Stephen A. Smith).

Mods, if there's someone big I forgot* feel free to add them here.

*Bill Walton cannot be added to this poll.

Voted for Theisman. Joe is pretty much the biggest dumbass in the history of NFL broadcasting, IMO.

I did too, but in retrospect Gumble would have been a much better choice.

Banned.

I got too much love for Madden, and there's no way he would win this poll anyway.

I voted Gumbel.

He's the only guy I've ever heard call a field goal "good" when it in fact landed 20 feet or so short.

He was definitely the worst broadcaster I heard this decade, but I know there are a lot more annoying motherfuckers in this poll.

I wasn't saying I'd vote for him, just that I was surprised he wasn't an option. I know a shitton of people that can't stand him.

People hate on Madden because he kept calling games past his prime. Some hate on Madden because of his over exposure, but you can't say he didnt know his shit, unlike most on this list.

Voted theismann.

remember when roethlisberger came back from an injury and had a decent first half. Joe says something like "Ben is back and in full form tonight" the very next play he throws an INT. then joe says "Ben just hasnt looked comfortable all night tonight".

Mauro Ranallo has worked very hard for his spot on this poll. Crazy how awful he's become. When you want MMA to be taken seriously, Mauro Ranallo- king of forced pop culture references- is not the man you put in the announcer's seat for a national CBS broadcast.

Not that I'd vote for him anyway. Tim McCarver is just... he's a whole other level of suck. I went in figuring I'd be voting for Joe Buck. Then I remembered how much I despise Tim McCarver.

Remember Joe Buck also does baseball. He's out of his element in football, but he's not a bad baseball guy.

Since when has Bryant Gumbel done play-by-play in a game at all? He has a sports background and used to host the Today Show, but I think u guys are mistaken him with his brother, Greg. Greg Gumbel does a good job and should not be on the list. His broadcast partner, Dan Dierdorf could be added to the list, because he is too obscessed with offensive line play for my liking, since he is former offensive lineman. He says numerous stupid shit in his broadcastin as well.

Shame on anybody for sayin Dick Vitale. Vitale makes watchin college basketball more fun.

My pick is Pam Ward. If she does a college football game, I immediately turn away. Her voice is really annoyin. They shouldn't let dibowski butch bitches commentate on mens sports. Let her televise her fellow lesbian broads in the WNBA. At least nobody will listen then.

I hate Lou Holtz...

But Chris Berman...wow. How are u gonna not know how to pronounce your own show???? He say The Blintz EVERY time. It's so fuckin annoying.

Lou Holtz's lisp is unbearable. He's like the Kool G Rap of college football broadcasting.

Dennis Miller was one of the worst ideas in the history of sports broadcasting when he was on Monday Night Football. I'm just glad he's nowhere around now, but I would rather he kick a word that nobody knows than listen to Pam Ward.

Bryant Gumbal was on NFL Network for a little while. He was awful, easily less knowledgeable then anyone else on that list.

Is Bryant Gumble leaving the today show the biggest career mistake in history? He owned morning television and EVERY HOUSE WIFE loved homie to death. Now he covers sports but has the reputation of being a ninny....

I think Joe Theisman wins this...
