It was Charlton over Scholes really. Keane needs to be there as the anchor.

Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud is probably the second best striker we've had behind Law.

Its pretty much destined for it to stay 2-0 until the 89th minute when Cavani pops up to score and makes his angry Incan god face right?

edit: or..... or not.

Being Dutch means you'd rather go down playing beautiful football than winning ugly. Hence the Scholes over Keane :gyeah:

How do you rank van der Sar? Just curious.

in terms of GK, probably:

1. Schmeichel
2. Van der Sar
3. Stepney
4. Gregg
5. Wood

Fair enough. I was a bit young when Schmeichel was in his prime, so I don't remember him properly. Van der Sar however could very well be the best Dutch goalie ever. I certain rate him very high, both as a player and as a human. He's a standup guy.

So I know most of you guys don't really care, but I've just seen the full match of Liverpool reserves versus Ajax reserves. NextGen series. Liverpool played at home and were completely trashed by Ajax. 0-6. Liverpool really sucked badly, only Susa was a decent player (even though he failed to convert a penalty). Fischer, Ajax' danish talent, will one day definitely play for a top 3 team in the world. Some other players also have some potential.

All in all, I had a lot of fun watching this game. Maybe even more fun than watching our first team play.

This Napoli v. Chelsea game has been pretty sloppy, but as a spectacle I'm enjoying it.

Drogba just pulled a Busquets Peak. Hillarious the different reactions British announcers have to pretty much the same thing. If he plays in England he's clever and cheeky. If he plays anywhere else he's a cheat and diver. Sorry to always bring this up, but its more than a little annoying.

man utd are awful. outplayed by the 7th spanish team, in both games. judging by this years results, epl can't be the best league in the world.

Is it a case of Man Utd being awful or Bilbao being perfectly suited to exploit their weaknesses? But yeah, La Liga has been excellent this year if. There are 12 teams within 10 points of 4th CL spot. Its been a serious dogfight all year.

Man Utd seriously need to figure out their midfield or they'll keep being exploited by Spanish teams who press well.

does it really matter though? it's not only these 2 games, their whole european campaign is way bellow the standards for such a big club. it says a lot that a team like that is on course to win the premiership.

No you're right. Super ironic that Chelsea is the only British team left in Europe. And they barely qualified for the second round.

Also, the Bilbao v. Barcelona Copa Del Rey final is going to be one of the games of the year. The exact opposite of last year's 4 clasicos in 2 week monstrosity.
