Peterson's Son In Critical Condition Following Beating

Adrian Peterson was excused from practice on Thursday for personal reasons and was spotted in South Dakota.

Peterson is expected to be back in Minneapolis for Week 6 on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

TMZ reports that Peterson was attending to his two-year-old son who was severely beaten and is in critical condition. Peterson's son suffered severe head injuries.

Police are believed to have arrested a man named Robert Joseph Patterson for the assault.

Fucked up.

Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley’s injury against the Cleveland Browns is seemingly worse than it looked – and it appeared horrible on Sunday.

Finley is currently in intensive care at a hospital after sustaining a neck injury during Green Bay’s 31-13 victory, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. He has not undergone surgery, according to ESPN.

The injury occurred after Finley’s 10-yard reception when he took a hit in the head from Browns safety Tashaun Gipson, who was penalized for unnecessary roughness, during the fourth quarter.

Here is a portion of Mortensen’s report:

“Finley could not move when teammate Andrew Quarless approached him after he sustained the injury during the fourth quarter. Finley was taken off Lambeau Field on a gurney. The Packers said he had movement and feeling in all of his extremities.

"He couldn't move at the time," said Quarless, a backup tight end whose locker is next to Finley's. "So I just told him, 'Just stay here, just lay here, don't move.' "
