i like Boone's quote better
Coach Jim Harbaugh had nothing more to say about Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews, who was fined $15,000 for his late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

But 49ers right guard Alex Boone answered Friday when asked what kind of fine he would give Matthews.

“Probably punch him in the face,” Boone said. “I don’t want his money.”

In fairness, Washington's defense has been pretty pathetic the first two weeks. But I do like the running back rotation of Lacey/Starks/Franklin/Harris.

Roy called this last year

Brandon Marshall Calls Harrison Smith the Hardest Hitting Safety
Yahoo Contributor Network Dennis Parsons 1 hour ago
COMMENTARY | When thinking of the hardest hitting safety in the NFL, most fans would be quick to point out players like Bernard Pollard, Kam Chancellor, Laron Landry, or even Dashon Goldson. But the Minnesota Vikings have an up-and-coming safety of their own.

Minnesota Vikings' second-year player Harrison Smith is the hardest hitting safety in the NFL, according to Chicago Bears' wide receiver Brandon Marshall.

On Monday afternoon, Marshall responded to a tweet from former NFL safety Hamza Abdullah (Hamza's brother, Husian Aduballah, played four years with the Vikings). Hamza posed the question "Who's the hardest hitting safety in the NFL?" via Twitter. Marshall was quick to respond with "Minnesota's 22."

Of course, Harrison Smith wears the number 22 for the purple and gold.

Here is what the full conversation looked like:

Abdullah: "Who's the hardest hitting safey in the NFL?"

Marshall: "Minnesota's 22"

Adbullah: "Harrison Smith hitting like that?!?!"

Marshall: "Every play"

Yes, Brandon Marshall believes Harrison Smith is the hardest hitting safety in the NFL right now. Of course, he may be a little biased as he did just play Harrison and the Minnesota Vikings this past Sunday, but Smith has made his fair share of bone-crunching hits.

There is no question Harrison Smith is stud in the making. Last season, he recorded 104 tackles and three interceptions. So far this season, Smith has already recorded 18 tackles and intercepted Jay Cutler on a pass intended for none other than Brandon Marshall. Smith is a very underrated player and will likely be in the Pro Bowl sooner than later.

In a league that seems to give out fines almost every week due to hard and illegal hits, Harrison Smith has had his wallet open a few times. Smith was fined $21k back in the preseason of the 2012 season for a hit on a defenseless receiver. He was also fined for a horse-collar tackle on Washington Redskins' quarterback Robert Griffin III that same year. So far in the 2013 season, through two games, Harrison has kept his wallet closed and his play clean.

As for Marshall, he won't have to face the Vikings and Smith until Week 13 of the regular season. The Bears defeated the Vikings 31-30 in their Week 2 matchup.

One of the Vikings’ most exciting playmakers, as he proved Sunday, was once again sidelined for more than 90 percent of the offensive plays. Leslie Frazier sounded determined to change that going forward.

There was some puzzlement over the role of Cordarrelle Patterson in the Vikings offense in Week 1 of the season. Stymied by touchback after touchback in Detroit in his primary role as de facto kick returner, Patterson was only on the field as a wide receiver for five plays (9 percent of the Vikings’ 55 offensive snaps). He wasn’t gassed from a long return, which would have been a welcomed addition to the Vikings moribund offense the final 59 minutes of that loss to Detroit.

Things had to change. So was the mantra. Patterson will see more time in Week 2. He did. He saw six plays. But, seeing as the Vikings ran 64 plays, that equated to an identical 9 percent of offensive snaps.

On Monday, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said things are going to change.

“We’re going to get that rectified,” Frazier said. “He definitely deserves to be on the field more. He’s showed that in the few snaps he’s gotten in the first two ballgames. Hopefully, everything being equal, that should not be a part of the conversation next week. We want to get him on the field. He’s one of our explosive players for sure. We see what he does when he gets the ball in his hands so we have to get him on the field.”

baffling that dude doesnt already have him in the slot on every single fucking play. whats weird to me is that the offense is not 4 wide with rudolph split out wide or just 4 wr straight up. no fucking db can tackle ap period. and ponder can run so the option is available i mean imagine giving ap 5 yds for free every other time he touches the ball.

Any team that can rush 4 successfully without blitzing can basically own the packers offense.

I thought freeman essentially saying "I went to the Vikings because they already have a guy and I need a break" was pretty lame.
