as soon as i saw trimble get beheaded by dude's shoulder on that screen, it was OBVIOUS to me he was concussed

they take him out ONE play, basically ask him if he's okay, of course he'll say yes, how could you go through all the proper concussion protocol that fast? he comes back in the game, stumbles around and fumbles the ball and trhows it away on another possession, THEN he finally gets taken out minutes later, and he's on the bench with his head in his hands buried in his jersey with some douchebag trainer with his arm around him.

I'm sure the concussion protocol is an afterthought in basketball.

It happens 3,4,5 times per football game, maybe once in 15 games for bball?

No excuse, just saying.

Fucking WVU man, damn. They play that Pitino press- hate that shit.

I'll get us back on message: Winslow will be a better pro than Okafor

Agreed. Okafor will be ok tho. At worst a solid role player

What concerns me is that Okafor is undersized for his position, and won't defend. Winslow is the exact opposite. If he never develops a way to score consistently, he'll at least always be able to play top notch defense

I think okafor could play the 4 tho. Prob can't guard stretch 4's at all. He'll get drafted way to high and we'll b wrong or he's as average as we think. Where's Rzn? Towns is the best, mudiay still top 5 and who else?

scouts and viewers and random fans alike now all suddenly seeing what i've been saying about okafor for months. about damn time. didn't pb already call him a baby al jeff? maybe in his prime a baby z-bo with less rebounding? those comps still use pretty lofty players. i'd say he's basically a 99% back-to-the basket greg monroe.

my last top 5 posted 3/10 (actually i only did a top 3)

1. towns
2. mudiay
3. booker

my updated top 5:

1 or 2...near tie...towns then mudiay, sometimes mudiay is a 6'5 allen iverson or what oj mayo was supposed to be after he got hyped as a junior in high school, and other times mudiay is just oj mayo. so it's tough, and you know i've always said size wins, so i'd go with towns ultimately, but mudiay has the x-factor, he's got latrell sprewell on the warriors athleticism & size at point guard and iverson's handle and finishing around/into contact around the rim (though not iverson's quickness, nobody in the history of the nba can take that from him)

3 & 4...near tie again...i'm torn here...but i'll go with size this time...trey lyles and devin booker

yes i realize 3 of my top 4 are kentucky players. actually they're all freshmen too lmao.

trey lyles is 6'10, can tomahawk it on fools from outside the restricted area while also showing off a pretty damn efficient jumpshot especially for a big man at that age...and he's got above-average ballhandling and passing at that size...

devin booker is klay thompson

light-skinnedededed? check
father played in the nba/various pro leagues? check
6'6? check
pure shooter from long range? check
both put up relatively modest numbers as freshman? check
went to school for a couple more years to develop his game into one of the best in the ncaa before moving on to the league, playing apprentice for a year and then taking off?

yea so the simple fact that i don't have that same certainty with booker makes me put him after lyles.

5. d'angelo russell
i thought he was meh until i saw him work in the ncaa's. rather than fault him for being negatively influenced by having an inferior "prepare-you-for-the-nba" college coach in thad his play convinced me it's more of a "i'm being stifled by my shitty coach and haven't been able to show the nba type next-level skills necessary to succeed at the next level" situation.

left-handed = automatic, eternal bonus
passing vision and ability = WAAAy better than i had thought and what convinces me he will be legit at the next level

he doesn't have great athleticism but his feel for the game, his passing ability, his left-handedness....he's as surefire a guard as you'll get in terms of big point guards who can distribute and stick, he's got a lot of goran dragic potential in him imo

I don't see how you don't take William Cauley in the top 5. Once he gets on the Anthony Davis program he'll be set. He could gain 40 pounds without losing a step. My top 5

Towns
Okafor
Willie Cauley stein
Mudiay
Stanley J

Stanley looks better than anybody else at guard, Towns and Okafor are a tossup, you have to take one of them first, and whoever' left 2nd. WCS is a more specific need

Mudiay has a high ceiling/low floor problem as rzn noted

After that I have no fucking idea

I respect that, but you also realize that you're always an outlier- right? Even if you're correct all the time

Booker top 5 is great, but probably ain't happening. I hope he ends up deserving that spot, but he'll go 20th

Even if you just go off per-minute efficiencies, somebody is going to make the argument that UK guys can only put up those numbers because they're playing 21 minutes a game.

this picture just made my fucking week, holy fucking yes

i've been talking everyone's ear off about ulis whenever i watch kentucky games and getting girls to like ulis/kentucky (they dig his short stature, this one particularly drunk chick kept saying "BUT HE'S SO SHORT" everyt time she saw him touch the ball)

re: justice winslow over stanley johnson

i guarantee some scouts agree with me, that was one of my less contrarian predictions really...the tournament has opened eyes on winslow (including mine)

aren't you scared in the slightest that johnson has some derrick williams in his game?

I don't know enough about Derrick Williams to answer that question. In the observable universe, Johnson would be my #1 SG. Mudiay loses the coin flip because he spent that year in some batshit overseas league. He might as well have played for the globetrotters for all the use I get out of his tape.

I guarantee you some scouts do agree with you, on everything. I was commenting more on Booker and Lyles, but whatever. I like your opinions, and you're usually correct with them, but it seems like NBA management plays everything really safe.

it would be interesting if the longhorns hired a new head football and a new head basketball coach within a two year span, and both are black guys
