Sterling as the highest man up the pitch, yep. The 3-5-2 worked, Pool created clear chances, the pressing was good, but the finishing was really poor. All due respect to De Gea who is a great shot stopper, the attempts on goal he had to turn away were all weak/taken from an impossible angle. Raheem 1v1 with the keeper 3 times, a free header, 0 goals :(

That Arsenal tie is a bit tasty. Arsene going back to Monaco, North London rioting if they lose etc etc

I'm very happy about that. No Bayern/Barca for once. Porto/Basel in the QF's and then we win the tourney Chelsea-style.

Pretty much, but I don't see Chelsea losing to PSG.

Yeah Chelsea are a way better team than PSG.

but everything else makes sense. Assuming Aguero doesn't somehow get extremely lucky against Barcelona's shitty defense.

Raheem played down the middle again today, and looked great, granted against lesser opposition but you can see the potential there. Honestly with Sturridge out till whenever (mid Jan?) he is Pool's best option. Loving the 3-5-2, hoping BR sticks with it.

The fact of the matter is Liverpool can't defend. Don't have the players, or manager to do it, so might as well bomb people forward and score some goals. The team has looked absolutely dreadful at times this year, boring as fuck, but not in this new formation, with Sterling's pace up top, and the midfield packed so the pressing is back, starting to resemble last year in style of play (not results).

Not gonna lie...

didn't see it, till I saw it, but Harry Kane is actually a difference maker for Spurs. It's that Ronaldo shot.

While only a draw Liverpool are starting to resemble a real side again. As I said after the Man U game, love the 3 at the back, with Sterling as a false 9. The press is back!

Lol@Borini, was actually right that he won the throw in acted like a total bitch, and then deserved to get sent off after cleating Santis chest. Even if he wasn't already cautioned could have been a straight red.

Skrtel is a warrior.

Liverpool might be off this year but it's not from a lack of effort. Glen Johnson a few weeks back, Skrtel...they're still out there battling for Rodgers and it shows. I think he's been getting a raw deal for most of the year, people saying his job is at risk. I think he's a very good manager and I wonder how many of those transfers were really his idea...

Another spineless performance from Arsenal, they're a mid-table team at best and if they get 4th, they'll overachieve. I wish someone besides Sanchez actually played to win. Welbeck is worthless out wide, they still can't defend a fucking set piece to save their life and again, playing Chambers as a fullback is such a terrible idea. He got shredded against Swansea and for whatever reason he puts him out on an island against Sterling...what did you expect to happen?

Wasn't Chambers in the middle with Debuchy/Gibbs at fullback? (had this game on with the volume down and only peeked up periodically).

Yeah I think you're right, but at least 3 different occasions, I saw that match up and Sterling just dribbled and crossed it into the middle like no one was there.

Arsenal seem to have reached the point in the season where we grind out little wins with a bit of luck, moments of genius in attack and individual heroism in defense. This season is now about finishing ahead of United (third), trying to reclaim the Cup and avoid embarassment in Europe. Big game coming up against Soton on Ibuprofen Day.

Arsenal better hope half the players in the Champions League come down with the mumps because if they don't win it this year, they're going to be watching from home come next season. There's no chance they finish 4th and if it weren't for Sanchez, this team would be 12-15 in the table. What a laugh.

I can only hope that missing out on the CL will spur them to react like United has but who am I kidding.

And to think they could have had Song (for nothing) and Fabregas in the midfield but instead are trotting out Chambers and Coquelin. Compound that with the absolutely retarded defending and viola.
