SF Giant fans disappeared for many a year after Bonds departure, good for the faggots they got something to root for.

Not very. He's been good since coming to the Giants, even though he hasn't gotten outta the fifth in these playoffs. It's nice to have Petit as an insurance policy, since I think he's the second best pitcher going on the team at the moment. So if Peavy doesn't have it tonight, hopefully Bochy wont hesitate to pull the trigger and go to the bullpen. Bumgarner's game last night was obviously amazing for a few reasons, but he saved the front line of the bullpen too. So if Peavy can go get six innings tonight, I'm pretty confident in their chances. And Ventura doesn't scare me. His fastball is impressive, but he has a long way to go before he's a dependable, quality starter. So all things considered, I like Peavy's experience combined with a fresh bullpen versus a raw thrower on a team from a city that just got punched in their collective dick last night.

The Royals have a lot of experience with peavy. I think your trust is warranted but I've seen Peavy get blown up too many times to be confident, current positivity notwithstanding

you bring up a great point about how SF stepped on their collective throats last night, you know the Royals a sense of panic and fear in them after seeing what your plucky squad is capable of.

Giants have had trouble with hard throwers this year, so while not worried about Peavy, more worried about Ventura if has any kind of cintros tonight.

I'd worry more if he was a hard throwing lefty. The Giants lineup against lefties is rough with platoon advantages on Blanco, Panik, Sandoval from the right side, Crawford and Perez starting instead of Ishikawa. That said, the best left handed starter the Royals have is Jason Vargas, so, its less of a concern.

I get batting Lorenzo Cain third against lefties and keeping Alex Gordon down in the lineup, but against righties? Seems like not such a great idea. Or with Aoki slumping, why not move Gordon to second? I understand continuity, but Yost is weird

That was a horrible move bringing in Strickland there. Plenty of other arms to get the outs there.

Considering the bullshit that he pulled last night, its fitting that Hunter Strickland has been anointed the baseball touchstone of the #alphaera
