Because our GM is a moron who signed him to that predictably terrible contract in the first place, and unlike Amaro he isn't going anywhere so we're fucked forever.

I don't know why you're so gassed against Cashman, you guys made the playoffs even though no one anywhere had you guys even sniffing the postseason at the start of the year.
He's way better than Amaro.

Yankees just aren't that good. They overachieved all season and were never legitimate contenders. Yankees fans should be pleased with their season. Happy for the Stros, and Cubbies. Love how all the matchups broke down. Gonna be a great month.

Didn't know dude broke his leg. That sucks obviously but every runner trying to take out the second baseman on a double play. Let's be serious.

3 ways to look at that play.

As a Mets fan you're disappointed. You feel its dirty and its unfortunate a player was hurt. However, had it been David Murphy doing that into Seager, Kendrick or even Utley you'd probably think differently about it.

As a fan of baseball, that shit was 100% legal within the rules. Don't be mad at a player doing what he is suppose to do (break up the dp), be mad with MLB for allowing the rule. NOTHING he did was illegal.

As a fan of Utley. While the slide was late, anyone who knows him or follows baseball knows there is nothing remotely malicious about him. He had no intention of hurting anyone. Tejada turned in the air on a bad throw and put himself in a position to get hurt. Utley plays hard all the time and that was a perfect example.

He not only won the Dodgers the game, but it changed the momentum for the series on just that one play.

I don't understand how he was safe. He never intended to end up on second. The slide was dirty but legal. Calling him safe was egregious and it cost the Mets the game

this. whether it was dirty or not, to turn around and call him safe was laughable. and then to suspend him for a slide he was called safe on is just as laughable.

mlb is straight fuckin up so far these playoffs.

While the whole call was horrible. The reason he was awarded 2nd base was because he was called out on the play and then MLB reserved it. Hence, there was no need for him to touch the base at all since he slid past it. He was called out! Got it?

So, because they challenged the call and NY headquarters said he wasn't out, that it wasn't a neighborhood play (cuz of that shitty ass toss from Murphy) Tejada and never touched the bag at all, thus Utley was awarded 2nd base.

Anyone remember how Manny Ramirez impacted the Dodgers in '10? That is what Yoenis has been doing for the Mets.

Dunno if I'd go that far (Manny slugged like .800 in that time), but he hit the motherfucking dick off that pitch last night.
