Giants rotation looks awesome on paper but man that's an awful lot of money for two starting pitchers with question marks.
Rotation could be really dominant or could have two Barry Zitos.
NL West going crazy though, I can't believe the Dodgers have sat all this out. They almost have to make a big trade in response.

Frazier to the White Sox in a steal of a trade.

Yeah I really like their bats. Their pitching, not so much.

Really? White Sox have three great SP (Sale, Quintana & Rodon) and a great closer in Robertson. I think their biggest problem is their still weak in the outfield and up the middle defensively and offensively.

Also, it kinda sucks how dead this thread is compared to previous years. Where's everyone at?

Let me rephase, next year I don't love their SP. Rodon still a bit young. Quintana is more of a #3 to me. I truly think they need another #1/2 guy to compete.

The raiders are actually relevant and the dubs are going their thing. That's my excuse.
I think shark has a bounce back year and provides great value thru most of the contract. Cueto kills the first two years, opts out and becomes Pablo Sandoval Red Sox version. Everyone remembers him as a royal and not the guy putting up great era in a hitters park. And fuck the Cubs, that lineup is just sick.

Must really suck to be a Reds fan right now as they trade away their biggest stars and get absolutely fucking nothing in return.
I don't get the Chapman trade at all, they would've gotten so much more if they'd have waited until after whatever suspension he gets and flipped him at the trade deadline.

Griffey and Piazza to the HOF.
Best news is that Raines will almost certainly finally get in next year. Bagwell too.
Faggot purge of old HOF voters doing big things.

Also, good to see the Royals were able to retain Gordon.

Junior was 3 votes shy of unanimous approval . 437 out of 440 votes. That's like losing a perfect game in the bottom of the ninth with two outs

Also, another cool stat: Griffey is the first #1 overall draft pick to make it into the Hall of Fame. He will be going in with Piazza, who is now the record holder for the lowest drafted pick to make the HOF (#1,390 in 1988)

at the very least, i'd like to hear their rationales for not putting him on their ballots.

An optimistic view is they used their votes on other deserving candidates cuz Junior was a shoe in and they wanted to award guys who needed more support on a crowded ballot. Alternatively they could just be dumb asses.

I don't give much of a fuck about a 100% ballot though. Maddux not getting it was a greater indictment of the voting process than Junior missing it by 3 votes. But the whole thing is fucked, as it has been for years, and nothing matters til Bonds and Clemens gets in. So it's whatever.

meh he's not even a top 5 player of the last 25 years, why waste the first 100% vote on the #38 player of all time? Give it Trout in 15 years

You're being overly hard on Griffey, dude was basically Trout 1.0 before he got hurt. #38th of all time seems low. Where'd you come up with that number?

Besides, Pujols should be unanimous long before Trout sniffs the ballot.

It was just a random number I threw out, though he is only #40 in career WAR. His peak puts him higher but it's going to be more like #25. He wasn't as good as memory suggests.

if you are waiting for someone "worthy" you need inner circle 110+ WAR numbers and Trouts by far the best bet there, the voters are idiots and 30 players should have had unanimous ballots but playing their game you need someone that you can talk about with guys like Mays, Ruth, Williams and not laugh at comparison.

Yeah but Pujols is at 100 WAR already and has another 6 or 7 years under contract, If he's not an inner circle hall of famer then the term is absolutely meaningless.

As far as I know he's never been legitimately tied to PEDs in any way.
Only thing I can think of is that one asshole writer said he heard he used. But he didn't have anything to back it up and Pujols might have even sued the guy.

Pujols looked like he was 39 at age 23. He was a behemoth, so I would think he did something at one point, much like Jeff Bagwell. Still, 1st ballots to me. Damn shame Jeff didn't make it this year.

Upton to the Tigers. Illitch really does not give a fuck about making money. Pretty reasonable deal though. 6 years, 132 million. Thought he'd get more than that.

I like the deal but why do I feel like the Tigers are bi-polar. They hate spending money, then they want to spend money. I wish they just stuck with the script.

C – Salty
1B – Miggy
2B – Kinsler
SS – Iglesias
3B – Castellanos
OF – Upton
OF - JD Martinez
OF – Maybin
DH – V-Mart

SP – Zimmermann
SP – Verlander
SP – Anibal Sanchez
SP – Norris
SP – Pelfrey

RP – K-Rod
RP - Rondon
