Keeper Jr 2017 Thread

Post by Philaflava »

We had 13 teams last year. I am pretty sure Reason is out, although I’ll wait for confirmation. I’m preferably ok with a 12 team keeper league. Please renew your team if you’re interested. Select your keepers and paypal me your $25. If you’re out, please let me know ASAP so we can replace you. Draft will be set once we have a full house.

Anybody have a thin keeper list? I'm looking to deal a keeper for a pick.

Money sent. Came really close to not playing any leagues this year but have too much invested to bail.
We need activity to step up again this year though or its barely worth it. Last year we only had like three trades all year and I could barely get a response from people. And eventually I barely found time to set my lineups because why bother.

the 2nd concern is more on you. guys like justin too.

i marked you paid, but now justin, kel, j abraham and matt are outstanding. i am too old to chase so tomorrow i'm replacing with interested people. that is what the league needs.

What I meant was, when you are actively trying to improve your team in the first couple of months and get no response, at some point you check out because you realize you are wasting your time.
Five years ago if you had a stud on the block you could get multiple discussions going and get appropriate value. Now you have to hope that one of the 4 active managers need to fill the specific position you are offering or else you are SOL.

I think I'm a fair trader, I'm just a little impatient with off the wall offers. I'm open for business tho.

Shit, I didn't know the draft was so soon. I'm in and will pay

I make multiple trades a year and am always among the leader in transactions.
Hey, by the way who's Curt?

Well the other drafts that most of us are in around those dates. I can ask but usually it's a few days before opening day, in this case the day before. Post on the Yahoo board and se what the replies. I'm flexible.

Carlos Rodon
Eduardo Rodriguez

Where is that option? This is what I see and after draft I can't change in bold.

TIME PLAYERS ARE ON WAIVERS
DETERMINE WAIVER PRIORITY BY 
WAIVER MODE 
CAN'T CUT LIST PROVIDER 
TRADES REVIEWED BY 
AFTER DRAFT, MAKE ALL UNOWNED PLAYERSFollow Waiver Rules

Liking my squad.

C - Jonathan Lucroy
1B - Eric Hosmer
2B - Trea Turner
SS - Addison Russell
3B - Adrian Beltre
OF - George Springer
OF - Starling Marte
OF - Jose Bautista
Util - Joc Pederson

B - Jason Kipnis, Michael Brantley, Eric Thames, Joey Gallo, Tommy Joseph

SP - Yu Darvish, Chris Archer, Jose Quintana, Cole Hamels, Carlos Rodon, Jon Gray, Blake Snell, Eduardo Rodriguez

RP - Ken Giles, Neftali Feliz, Carter Capps

Thrilled that I was able to snag Archer with my first pick (seriously can't believe he made it to me at #7) and Hosmer with my 2nd (just hitting his prime at 27 and I think he has a power spike coming).
Not sold on Pederson totally but I like him where I got him.
Love my bench, tons of upside. Like Kipnis and Brantley's chances of both bouncing back to 2nd/3rd round value (still in their prime at 29/30).
Think Gallo may be Russell Branyan 2.0 but worth a shot to see if he figures it out while covering for Beltre.
Eric Thames is probably the biggest risk/reward play in fantasy this year, some of the best projection systems are predicting some eye-popping numbers and believe his revamped swing could translate to the majors. They are also pretty bullish on Joseph, good chance on 30 HR from the bench.

My SP should be enough to compete although I might struggle with Wins. I'm light on RP but I think there is going to be even more closer turnover than the usual this year so I should be able to pick some saves up in free agency.

Not sure without being able to see it. Maybe Dwight would know, in Keeperstown they are all free agents. What are the other After Draft options?

While you're at it, you still need to manually change the waiver priority order to where we were at the end of last year (Big League Jew had 1st priority, I had 2nd...)

I’m loving my team, which pretty much means I’m doomed. The right combo of speed, power and decent average. I love the prospects I got and the flexibility with the bench. I'm pretty much fucked if Betts gets hurt though. My SP and RF is probably the best in the entire league.

C – Wellington Castillo
1B – Hanley Ramirez
2B – Dee Gordon
3B – Maikel Franco
SS – Trevor Story
OF – Mookie Betts
OF – Giancarlo Stanton
OF – Jacoby Ellsbury
Util – Mark Trumbo

BN – DJ LeMahiu, Dansby Swanson, Yoan Moncada, Manuel Margot, Yadier Molina, Jarrod Dyson

SP – Max Scherzer
SP – Chris Sale
SP – Corey Kluber
SP – J.A. Happ
RP – Aroldis Chapman
RP – Wade Davis
RP – Jeurys Familia
RP – Jeanmar Gomez
P – Joaquin Benoit, Ian Kennedy

Yeah you have a nice team. Going to dominate RP. Your top 3 SP is great but you're going to need more than Happ/Kennedy to get through the year. I don't think Happ is as good as his stats last year and is destined for a reality check.

Happ is cheap wins with solid ERA and Kennedy is cheap K's. I think the fact I have the best trio of SP means the back end can be fillers. But, if Sale or Kluber go down, it's all over.

Your bench is very solid like you said. I can see average being a problem for you when you factor in Russell, Young Joc, Joey Bats and maybe Springer if he doesn’t groove. Nice mix of power and speed and Lucroy at C is as good as it gets fantasy wise. Huge fan of Archer and your starting 4 is sick. Your RP is a questionmark tho.
