Rubio is better than Teague by every measure. Hate that move for the Wolves. Teague is not a winning basketball player.

Golden St will be paying over $50 million in luxury taxes next year, 90+ million the following year, almost $200 million in year 3 and $222 million in year 4.
It's long overdue for the NBA to implement a legit hard salary cap

Hey, by the way who's Curt?
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
Isn't the luxury tax enough? Everyone wants the penalize the dubs for being a well run franchise that built itself organically and took advantage of a great opportunity.
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
What I find hilarious is that the new cba was designed to help teams keep their players and a lot of players have still switched teams for less money. Durant Horford Hayward and chris Paul to an extent
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
Nick Young on the Warriors is hilarious.

Whole rookie class looks great, Lonzo & Dennis Smith Jr highlights are nuts, Fox too. Donavan Mitchell and Bam Abedayo look like studs as well

And now he's a Celtic!
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
Lateral move. Interesting to see how Kyrie can play in Brad Stevens system.
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
That nets pick makes it a win for cavs imo

Totally...and Crowder is a really good piece and a has really good contract. Unless IT3 is hurt more than we know, I really don't see how this was a smart trade for the Celtics.
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
If kyrie learns to play defense under Stevens, wow.
But I think that he aligns more with their younger core and Hayward than a soon to be 30 Thomas

Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
pretty decent for both teams, Celtics probably would have wanted to keep that pick tho.
Wasn't this package what was rumored to be what the Pacers would have took for PG13, they should have gone that route.

Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
This is prob brons last year in cle and they just got worse with losing kyrie and adding thomas & crowder. That's the bottom line for me. Yea, the pick in next years draft is nice, but their window to win another ring with Bron has just been slammed shut.
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
I think Crowder unlocks some lineups they could use now and gives them depth too. Cleveland is a lot deeper than last season. And kyrie and Thomas is a wash imo.

Thomas is not in the tier 1 of pg's, kyrie is. It's def a downgrade.alpha wrote:I think Crowder unlocks some lineups they could use now and gives them depth too. Cleveland is a lot deeper than last season. And kyrie and Thomas is a wash imo.
Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
^Eh, they're both incredible offensive PG's who hit threes and take people off the dribble, but are gaping holes on defense. Kyrie is younger and better it's not that far off.

Re: 2017 NBA off-season thread
I see your point but kyrie has better handle and is a better finisher than Thomas. Yea they're both liabilities on defense but like you said kyrie is younger and I think has a chance to really Improve that part of his game. However, Thomas is never going to get better on defense due to his size.Blockhead wrote:^Eh, they're both incredible offensive PG's who hit threes and take people off the dribble, but are gaping holes on defense. But when you throw in crowder and that first round pick, it feels like Cleveland really come off in the trade.GUCCI CONDOMS wrote:I see your point but kyrie has better handle and is a better finisher than Thomas.
