Regardless what you think of Melo, that trade was abysmal for the Knicks. They got two bench players who can't play any defense and a second round pick for their #1 guy. That's absurd. To not even get one starter back in that trade is absurd.
I wanted Melo out too...but not for that.
I was just laughing yesterday at the prospect of a Kanter/Beasley/Mcdermott/Hardaway Jr/Jack line up , that is possibly the worst defensive team ever put on an NBA court.

if they get a the Olympics version of Melo this is going to be fun to watch. If they play ISO hero ball all season, :puke:

It tells you a lot about the perceived value of Melo around the league.

It's true but, outside of Charles Barkley's dumb ass, no one looked at that trade as a good thing for the knicks.
Melo , for all his faults, is a deadly scorer. Like, Top tier in the league. Even at this age. To give him up for two scrubs (though Enes is actually an elite scorer at his position) was just defeatist of the knicks. At the very least, they should gotten a first round pick and a starter. Not two bench players.

As good of a scorer as Melo is, he is equally as bad on defense making it a wash. I agree, the knicks could have got a much better package
