2018 Fantasy Baseball

Post by Dwight Strawberry »

Reminder, I am stepping down from my keeper league. I believe someone wanted to run it moving forward. Let me know and I will transfer commish duties over to you.

I am interested in your yearly auction league Gloss.

Also, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing HR Derby League back, but not auction style.

I made a HR Derby league.

$20 to enter. Probably do 1st and 2nd place payout depending on number of people who join.

5 Players
1 DL Slot
2 Add/Drops allowed for the entire year
No trading

Homerun = 1 Point
Grand Slam = 4 Points

Draft is standard/snake set for Tuesday, 3/20 @ 9:00pm EST.

If you want the league invite, you must PayPal me $20 first. PayPal is keberry22@yahoo.com

So I guess Trevor and I aren't getting anything for Fantasy Football huh? Wack. Fantasy leagues are basically dead now. It was a fun run.

Feel free to collect. I'm done. And it wasn't a lack of trying either. Just how many emails, PMs do I need to send somebody to pay? No more commish for me.

Sad to say it but I'm out for either league this year. I don't think I even looked at my rosters after May last year. Too busy and its not going to get any better this year.

Sorry to say, but I'm out of Keeper Jr. as well. It was a good run, but minor league prospect watching, daily lineup changes, and saves chasing are no longer fun for me. RIP Whore Island

Word I'll send the PayPal today. Still gotta revisit my keepers. Any thoughts on changing the format or lowering the # of keepers? Might draw more interest if it were like 5-6 keepers. Would be nice to get the league back up to 12 teams again. People don't want to commit to a heavy keeper league anymore if their team requires a couple year rebuild. If we all chose 5 or 6 and got a 12th team this year or next they could pick from the remaining players and still have a good squad.

Draft is kind of blah when you start at the 12th round also.

the keepers aren't the reason why we dont get more people who to play. its the daily commitment. it's the fact most people don't have the time nor do they want to hawk the waiver wire the minute an injury happens. dwight straws leaving simply because he doesn't want to devote more time to his team every day than he has to and he has some of the sickest keeper options too. more people i speak to want to do H2H or have weekly line up changes. that isn't this league. it's not how it started and it won't be how it ends, even if that means a few less people.

It only takes 2 minutes a week to set your lineup. Yahoo has the set daily lineup option now so it's simple. Scroll through the week and you're done. I've done it in hockey leagues all year. Some guys in this league aren't on the waiver wire much all year and still place high. I always liked rotisserie in baseball, but I guess if you hit the bottom of the standings it can seem like an impossible task to climb back up.
Maybe lowering the innings limit is an idea. You can leave your positional players for a week and not fall too far behind. Pitching is where you need to be constantly rotating lineup and scouring for closers.

Need to really nail down a draft date/time. Season starts soon
