NFL Preseason Thread...

Post by the Wiper »

lemme start this thread off...

LeCharles Bentley blows out knee in first practice

go browns.

i swear every time i get excited about them, some random knee blows up.

draft the most athletic TE evaaar? motorcycle.

draft the best deep threat WR evaaar? knee, in the middle of a 2 td breakout game.

finally get around to improving the league's worst o-line by signing an all-pro center? knee, in the first 20 minutes of the FIRST FUCKING PRACTICE.

the luck of cleveland sports in general, and the browns specifically, is unreal.

here's to hoping your team's quarterback falls into a sewer and breaks his leg...

to get this thread up and crackin', here are bodog's over/under win totals for each team...

any good bets out there? of course, besides the browns at 6 1/2...i've already bet the under. now, i fully understand they'll go out and screw me out of $50, but it seems like money well-spent if i can watch them win 7 games, so long as one of them is against the steelers...

this could also be some sort of PF challenge as we get closer to the season, everyone could pick over/under for every team...

over/under win totals, july 27th...

arizona - 8

atlanta - 8 1/2

baltimore - 8

buffalo - 6 1/2

carolina - 10

Steven Jackson's gonna fuck shit up this year. Dude has immense talent and because of his size he'll be around for a while.

Frank Gore's gonna turn some heads this year too. Rumor is he's getting the starting job full time over Barlow. In the last few games last year he was doing real well.

if football made sense, they wouldn't play the games. AFC North is arguably the toughest division in that conference, from top to bottom. i really like the browns defense.

My favorite pick is the Bears under 9.5

They have an easy schedule, but the Bears cant have two good seasons in a row, and there's a lot of turmoil with a lot of their starters from last year.
General Interests: Fine herbage! Keepin it real, Jui Ryi Ki Kung-Fu (Blue belt with shuriken certification). Banging the skins with my smokin band 'TwaughtHammer'. European motocross (plan to attend Wheelie School in Vegas this summer). MILF's, MILF's, MILF's, MILF's!

so im a rams fan. been down since day one. still rock my kurt warner jersey with pride (no capote). im gona miss that crazy suicide offense mike martz used to run. do or die deep balls are a thing of the past, bulger couldn't really handle it either, dude is softbatch and bitchmade. needless to say, i have low expectations for my team this year.

see, i'm glad to hear it from someone uninvolved with the browns...their defense WILL be good. it's scoring points that's gonna be tough...

if wimbley gets going early and can get to the quarterback, we could surprise a lot of people. but then, these are the browns, so i won't hold my breath...

Day 1 of 2000? FAIRWEATHER FAN ALERT.

I'm kidding.

You're wrong about Bulger though. His problems had everything to do with Martz' lack of protection in his offensive scheme. Don't forget that Warner got emasculated in that offense too. Martz would split out OTs on passing patterns if the rules allowed it.

Thomas Jones hurt himself during his physical??? Hmmm...I know guy is mad but that is just suspect. Either way I wanted to see more Benson this year....Thomas Jones is very GOOD...we atleat have to see if Benson can be great. Also...I think Charles Tillman is going to lose his job. Also...the Bears must win 10+ games this year or its a disappointment to me. I mean....by week 4 we should no the deal...we open with 3 straight division games then we play the NFC Champs..

I don't think I understand the conspiracy you're suggesting re: T. Jones. What is suspicious about his injury?

Also, did you see the article on ESPN saying that the Broncos inquired about Jones' availibility in a trade (for Ashley Lelie)? Thoughts?

.

Thomas Jone's is pissy about his contract, I think. They stated today that he injured his hamstring during a physical run this morning before practice.

From what I've heard...DA BEARS will not be entertaining any offers to trade any of their running backs.

^ So what's the conspiracy? Trying to lure Brad Muster out of retirement?

Speaking of retirement, Willie Roaf announced his today. Meanwhile, gravy sandwiches everywhere have gone into hiding.

I'm thinking about driving up to Jackson to see the Saints, once Reggie Christ signs. It's only about 3.5 hours from N.O., and I don't have a job at the moment, so why not, right?

I go up to Bourbonnais to watch the Beloved practice atleats twice a year. The premise from years ago was to just go an root on the 3rd string QB (Moses Moreno, Henry Burris etc...) but this year it is Orton. I can't stand him, so this year I might actually pay attention to the first squad.

The Seahawks are going all the way. Our line and secondary concerns are overblown and will be compensated for by the Peterson, Burleson, Davis and Jennings acquirings. If you look at the Fox Sports rankings we're looking like this:

QB: 3
RB: 1
WR: 2 (highest ranked skillled position group)
OL: 4
DL: 2 (highest ranked interior in football)

Our linebacking crew is one of the best in the league. Our secondary depends on Trufant's improvement, Jennings's ability, and Hamlin's recovery. Our special teams is so-so. Brown needs to step up and become a big game kicker.

This is what us Niner faithful are hoping, a healthy oline with added larry allen. Gore taking the majority of carries.

The funniest moment of the entire season has already happened. Favre said the current Packers were the most talented team he has ever played on.

I can't wait to see if my Steelers can repeat (as long as Ben is ok).
They should still be the team to beat. i know how hard it is to repeat, but they didnt really lose any talent. They have a younger/better replacement for Von Olheffen, Chris hope was replaced with equally talented ryan clark from washington, Duce Staley got the Bus's shoes filled and they steelers will not miss Randel el AT ALL.

Watch out for this year's surprise WR Nate Washington to come out of nowhere like Willie Parker did last year. Nate was an undrafted rookie free agent out of TIFFIN U. last year and will be the no. 3 receiver this year ahead of 1st round pick Santonio Holmes.

The start of the season will be ward, cedrick wilson and nate as the 3rd with holmes coming in as 4th and 5th receiver. By mid-late season if holmes progesses enough, he will become the starter over wilson or nate will be the second and holmes the 3rd. Either way, I see the Steelers WR's being better this yr. than last.

rookie wr Willie Reid (florida st) will do the trick plays and punt returns just as good or better than Randell el.

STEELERS DYNASTY (maybe...hopefully)

peace
