hes got country influence but i think hes more rooted in the blues particular, i mean hes got some country arrangements/instruments but hes doing different things with it than a pop country man. his voice is a little country too

ryan adams is definitely more country influenced than blues, but blues is still in the mix. cold roses draws a lot from country, though, and jacksonville city nights is just a straight up country album, period. his work in whiskeytown also veers more towards country.

one good contemporary rock/blues hybrid band, and the one that stays truest to traditional blues in the process, is the black keys.

good stuff

a lot of the music ryan adams has made is very country beyond any sort of a doubt.

Ryan Adams started out in Whiskeytown, one of the major Alt-Country bands. It's not like country and the blues are so different anyway.
When we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.
