Most embarrassing music you bought/owned?

Post by Hush »

In 5th-6th grade it was cool (even for dudes) to listen to New Kids on the Block, so I owned some of their tapes ( ) as well as...

Paula Abdul
Milli Vanilli
Vanilla Ice
Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em / Too Legit to Quit
That TMNT tape from Pizza Hut
Shaq Diesel
Kris Kross
Vanilla Ice's second album that came out in '94 (I think)
Brian Austin Green (picked up used for like a dollar)
Insane Clown Posse
Kid Rock (used to really like him for some reason, I actually ended up selling one of his early "underground" albums for $100+ on eBay so in this case my shitty taste paid off)
N.A.P. (shitty local rappers from Indianapolis)

I know there are more I'm forgetting. God, I have shitty taste in music.

Same deal here w/Kid Rock. What'd you sell for 100? I sold early morning stone cold pimp for 100 myself. I still like grits sandwhiches and Polyfuze method.

I think I had all that crap you listed as well as Ace of Base, a gang of WHAM, David Faustino's cassette singles.. What was his name Diamond Lil I think?
In my defense I HAVE stuff I have no idea where it cam from too.. Iknow I've NEVER bought technotronic outright but I have a bunch of thier stuff for some reason?

Yeah, it was Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp. I still own Grits and Polyfuze Method also, haha.

WHAM reminds me I also had George Michael - Faith.

i grew up as a kid on rarotonga, in the cook islands. needless to say, you listen to whatever you get your hands on. so my childhood was defined by a cassette with mc hammer on one side, vanilla ice on the other, and...

from what I remember every track had the same riff? ownership of a UKJ album is not really a good look in any case, whatever your take. to be fair they were far from the worst of the fall-out 'hair metal' bands though (Enuff'Z'Nuff, Quireboys, Little Angels?), so maybe that makes it less embarrassing, but not by much.

not too much of a hair band at all, they were kind of that middle ground in between hair metal and grunge.

their cover of Nativity in Black was awesome.

I agree, but no way UKJ is faggy enough to be called a hair band though.

The somewhat ill conceived brainchild of Tony James, formerly of Billy Idol's first band Generation X.

I voluntarily purchased, and listened to, this album while growing up on an island with a considerably wider selection.

Ill conceived is about right. Someone told me SSS was related to Suicide as well, which I can't find any solid evidence to back up, but willingly believe every time I'm unwillingly moving to 21st Century Boy.

Looks like Martin Degville is still living the life tho.

Not too much on the 12's..

Here's the follow up. I'll up the 12 of the lead single later if anyone wants it. It has 6 versions on.. some are kind of cool.. the others.. eh.. I been wanting to rip these for serato anyway..

It's a zip file.. yell at me if there's a better way of putting these out there..
