Iron Maiden have launched a stinging attack on Grizzly Bear in the bandגs recent press release. Touting US reviews and details of Maidenגs forthcoming fifteenth album גThe Final Frontierג, the press release includes a paragraph lambasting the Mute artists.
ג[Iron Maidenגs] last record, גA Matter Of Life And Deathג, sold a million copies worldwide in its first week, with 56,000 sold in the United Statesג, begins the bizarre paragraph. גCompare that to, say, a Pitchfork darling like Grizzly Bear, whose 2009 release, the nearly unpronounceable גVeckatimestג, sold 33,000 copies in the U.S. in its initial week. Itגs a metaphorical wedgie from metal fans to wussy indie kids everywhereג.
