not sure if it's appropriate to post this in this thread..
but it certainly fits more than any other current thread in rick rubin

saw jimmy edgar play live last night.. and god damn. dude is a fucking beast!
i wasn't too familiar with his music beforehand.. but i definitely think a lot of fans of dam-funk would like him. he produces and sings.. and his beats are somewhere in between funk/80s/electro/glitch/wonky. i haven't heard his album on warp.. but his live show is highly recommended

random youtube selection. not familiar with his catalog.. so i don't know the names of the best songs he played
a lot of his shit sounds really 80s electro.. but he definitely brings in the funk & house/disco elements as well. the glitch type stuff I mentioned was prolly only a part of his live playing/programming

I meant to get at this thread a couple of months back around August when i first started listening to Dam Funk. I gotta say "KillDatMuthafucka" is my favorite song by him easily.

by far the best weekly in L.A....I was there a few weeks ago with Dam and Peanut Butter Wolf. PBW did an hour long Steve Arrington tribute set :ohsh:
