Fans had to wait 5 and a half hours for the lead singer to say: 2pac go head rock this.

thread is nothing if not informed. speaking of, wonder whatever happened to that grateful dead cover album the national was supposed to do a few years ago. was really hyped for that then forgot about it completely as everyone else seemingly has. new national album isn't far off now, but that woulda been nice to have had inbetween

it needs many more listens but upon first spin, definitely a solid effort

These guys have never really clicked for me in the past, but the new album is pretty great. Pleasantly surprised.
Re: The National play the same song for six hours
Their new album is my favorite album currently and the first one theirs of I got when it came out. I knew "Fake Empire" from some light radio play, talk show performances, but I didn't really know anything else until a few months after "High Violet" came out. I ended up going to one of their shows when the show I wanted to go to was sold-out. I was trying to buy tickets at the venue and they happened to be playing. So I went and it was a good time. I got "High Violet" and "Boxer" that night. I've never listened to "Alligator" or the older stuff all their hardcore fans know.
I can play the last 3 albums back to back to back and not get sick of them.

alligator, boxer, high violet, and trouble will find me are all very good albums. the albums before alligator are nothing special. some ok songs here and there, but the four aforementioned albums are all great. still not sure where the newest one falls in comparison since its still fresh to me, but its really solid.
