Im a huge fan of this band. They are a top 5 band for me no doubt. This has some of my favorite tunes on it by them like Footbinding and Gourmet Pez. Just download it and see for yourself. This is the band that basically named the sub genre Power Violence as well as set the ethos for what was to come. Unique and Intelligent but not in a preachy way. 2 bass players who absolutely destroy the fretboards, killer drum fills and the legendary Amps for Christ. Has to be heard to be understood so I will say no more other than this comes highly recommended by me no doubt at all.

Providence Rhode Islands kings of Fast Hardcore. Pissed off as fuck short blasts of raw attitude and precision. These riffs are great and I always dug the vocals. Im not a huge fan of the Vegan lyrics on some of the songs because I like Steak and Fish and Bacon and Fried Chicken and Venison and Shrimps.

Disrupt/Nausea - Tech.No.Logic Cancer split live LP

this is a split live bootleg that i guess is pretty hard to find. only 189 made, supposedly printed in cuba? the disrupt side is live in europe in 1993 and includes the song 'shut' which was previously unreleased until it came out on that self titled lp released a couple months ago. the nausea side is live in the usa in 1990. any more info this would be welcome.

Catfish, did you ever go any to shows in N.O. at "The Nest"?

It was on Magazine St. near Napoleon in basically an abandoned building. They used to sell jello shots with LSD in them at the back door. I saw Flipper there around 1994. I went to a bunch of other shows too... I just can't remember who I saw. The Fuckemos maybe?

Any idea what I'm talking about?

yeah definitely. that place went under.
I used to go to Dixie Tavern(RIP) and Checkpoint Charlies most of the time. Occasionally a House of Blues show and used to hit up some raves at State Palace Theatre before the DEA shut it down to buy and sell drugs.

Ill have to ask around and find out what happened to that place. Here lately when I play there or go down to hang out its usually been at Saturn Bar off Elysian Fields or The Bar in Fat City.

what side of town did you live in.
I had a house off Mexico Avenue not far from Farmers Market and did some couch surfing tours over in Gentilly and various uptown locations.

I have a gay uncle who owns a bed and breakfast in the quarter a couple blocks from Lower Bourbon.

Yeah, I figured it went down. That block is all redeveloped now with boutiques and gourmet pizza shops and shit. I think I saw the dude who used to run the place recently. I swear he still has that same crown of thorns haircut.

I grew up Uptown in the Carrollton/River Bend area. I live in Broadmoor now. Sounds like we hung out at some of the same spots. Shout out to the Faubourg Center.

This band requested me on myspace, then sent me a message about a free EP.

to my surprise it was damn good on some 1970s minimalist punk steez.

I first heard this tape riding around with my friend Vince's brother who was really into DRI, COC and Excel and we were all cool because of the appreciation of Reign in Blood. I remember diggin it and I still do. Pretty much NYC's answer to the whole crossover deal.

You go away for a year or so and return to find the board having in depth discussions about Slap-A-Ham Records and dudes posting up Man Is The Bastard rar files.

2 things :

1. The Downsided 7" by No Comment is the best Slap-A-Ham release and a top 3 hardcore 7" of the 90s.

2. Anybody got mp3s of all the Neanderthal shit? There really does need to be an official Neanderthal discography. It'd only be about 7 songs deep and 5 minutes long but i'd buy it.

I take responsibility for flying the Slap A Ham flag.
Im a proud power violence fuckhead.

No Comment is a top 3.
I may be able to compile or at least link you to a neaderthal discog. I will search. I posted some Peter Mangalore. I really planned to flood this thread with PV/Hardcore but I dont have the internet at the house no more so that would mean me actually going to work on my day off. fat chance but its not impossible.

you should check the new Magrudergrind. Theress something in there for you.
