David Byrne live
I will have to upload videos when my internet connection, like the one I have here at home now, isn't ridiculously low. It was hard to take photos because everyone on stage was wearing white, making it nearly impossible for anyone to come out on camera. And we were actually not too far back, orchestra seats and all!
He didn't play that much new stuff. Of the old shit, he played...
"I Zimbra"
"Heaven"
"Houses in Motion"
"Slippery People"
"Life During Wartime"
"Born Under Punches"
"Once in a Lifetime"
"Take Me to the River"
"The Great Curve"
"Air"
"Burning Down the House" (this was in the second encore, it began with an organ intro, and then the lights went up featuring him and the rest of the singers and dancers in white tutus, joined at the crescendo of the song by the rockettes in matching white tutus and they all danced in a huge line formation before the end.)
Whatever may be going on in P&B I can assure you my life is anything but a failure. I just saw David Byrne live for the first time ever, and with the coolest fucking chick I've met in a long ass time, and the show was unreal to boot. Three for three, y'all.

^ was real tempted to buy some merch after the show but along with the realization that i could more than likely buy most of it online, the lines that had accumulated were too much to deal with after being in such a euphoric state.
eh. bit extreme but i'll buy it. wasn't my intent to go that route.barknee wrote:ill considered final statement there, makes you sound like mindbender mate!
Well even with the new material he manages to make quite a convincing argument that he's still got it. But as it usually goes, anything played live makes the studio versions pale in comparison and on this occasion it was no exception. Back up singers and dancers plus the band itself are all tight enough to make it a worthwhile event. Highly recommended. Plus, Mark De Gli Antoni of Soul Coughing fame is in the band!think i might go and see byrne in LDN even though i have no interest at all in the new material. would be purely for the heads material.

book is great. I bought it on amazon a few years back, coupled with 'the new sins'.The Iron Sheik wrote:i also bought this book at the show:

Does he not play 'This Must be the Place" anymore? It's my favorite song of all time.

My guess is he was trying to cover the main ground of anything he did with Eno back in the day, thus the Fear of Music and Remain in Light material.
here's an excerpt by the way of "burning down the house" as promised. i'll try and get my great curve video up later.
