not really anything to write home about. very average retro thrash imo.

I have heard that they are enjoyable live though.

Omegas is good. Might actually make Chaos this year. St. Vitus. Moss Icon, the Waste, and Ringworm are all good, even though I read Abused as Accused and got way stoked for 30 seconds. People bumping my vacation may suck though.

What are some good websites for keeping up on the world of metal and its various goings-ons? I've been keeping informed solely by this thread for quite some time and while I take nothing away from y'alls various contributions I feel as if I'm missing out on a great deal of what's happening and missing a lot of shit that I should be listening to

the best thing is to find a blog that follows the kind of stuff you like most.

I think Lambgoat would be a good one for you.

but if you want general news, blabbermouth is good, though you have to wade through a lot of crap

http://www.nocleansinging.com/
- No Clean Singing is a good blog of news, reviews and general metal stuffs.

http://metalreview.com/
- Metal Review has some really well written reviews. Anything (mostly) that gets a decent rating is usually worth checking out.

http://www.avantgarde-metal.com/
- Personally, I really dig this site. It has all the really weird quirky metal shit, that no one else talks about.

http://www.thesleepingshaman.com/
- Good reviews. Mostly doom, stoner, drone type stuff.

I got a callback today to be cast as an extra in a scene for the upcoming season of HBO Original Series Treme'. Im cast as an EYEHATEGOD fan in a live scene they are filming at Southport Hall this wednesday. I think it pays $92.00.

Just kidding. That's awesome. Both that eyehategod is going to be on treme and that you are going to be on the show. Throw up the p while it's filming, gawd.

I forget how to embed. This is one of their best songs, Apocalyptic Havoc from their last album- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u8rVrUDgRU

New album sounds pretty much like that.

This is my favorite Orange Goblin joint. I've only heard one of their albums. Saw them perform in New Orleans back in 2004.
Good show from what I remember.

interview with John Baizley (Baroness) about new album & tour ect...some "teaser" iPhone vids of them recording the new stuff...

http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2012/02 ... -baroness/

disappointed to only expect a 45 minute set on the Meshuggah tour, but since they aren't headlining I guess it's to be expected.

It's also a concept album that, according to Pike, is framed by a couple questions: "I got this idea about Jesus Christ and the Immaculate Conception: What if Jesus had a twin who died at birth to give Jesus his life? And then what if the twin became a time traveler right then?"

great song
