Damn it. These are all blocked. Can anyone upload Among The Living? I haven't heard that album in ages.DLG wrote:been revisting this awesomeness lately. enjoy.
Anthrax is a New York City-based heavy metal band that released its first full-length album in 1984. The band was one of the most popular of the 1980s thrash metal scene and is notable for being the first to combine heavy metal with rap music. The band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, and is classified as one of the "big four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer.

Damn, sounds fucked up CH. Hope that shit works out. SXSW was a fucking blast. Posted up a little recap in the other thread.
Candlemass has never done much for me. Have been hearing raves about this album, so was curious to check it out. Can't say it was the exception to the rule for me. Thanks for posting it up though, DLG.
360 (or anyone else), if you liked that Razor of Occam, check out Tribulation's The Horror. You might have been on hiatus when I posted it up a while ago. One of my favorite albums so far this year.

MG, here's Among The Living-
Oceanic is by far their best IMO.Money Gripp wrote:What do you consider their best album? I only have Oceanic and I quite enjoy it.DLG wrote:the new isis is not doing too much for me.
the production doesn't fit them at all.
You'll probably like Panopticon though, but nothing is touching Oceanic by a long shot imo.

Here is something I have been listening to a lot. Akimbo sounds like a lot of things, the Jesus Lizard, rockier Melvins and some classic rock band come to mind. This is their latest, on Neurot Recordings.
1. Matawan
2. Bruder Vansant
3. Lester Stillwell
4. Rogue
5. Great White Bull
6. Jersey Shores

Thanks, Man. They're playing here tomorrow and I might go. Wanted to peep the album first.
Posting albums is easy. You just take the folder that holds the songs for the album and make a zip or rar file out of it.
If you don't have a program that will make a zip or rar on your computer, there are plenty you can DL for free that will do it.
Then you just upload the zip or rar to yousendit, sendspace, megaupload, mediafire, whatever.

my band is doing 3 days on the road starting Thursday with Dark Castle, a 2 piece husband and wife duo from St Augustine Florida. I love them as people and as a band they are fucking phenomenal. Musically its sludgy Doom with a Death Metal female vocal sort of thing going on with some Isis influence type shit going on. Stevie has a great stage presence and a sick lights rig. they play with fans on them so its gives them this caught in hells wind vibe live and Rob the drummer has a kooky but brutal looking style of drumming. They tour relentlessly which im sure is easier being that they are married. But all bullshit aside be sure to catch them when they come to play in your area. I guess this is kind of a shitty review but they are really fucking good people and a blast to hang out with. they usually stay at my place when they are in town and its funny to see them when they wake up in the morning doing domestic husband and wife things like maintaing each others hair.
they have one of the hugest buzzes of any band in the stoner doom genre right now.
Ill upload their album and a music video me and my drummer made for them when we finish it and i find out how to up albums.
in the meanwhile peep their myspace out.

That Dark Castle shit is pretty cool. Gets a little lost wandering off in places at times, but overall I dig it. Liked Flight the best of the three they have up. Would definitely go see them if they ever come through NY.
Saw Music Hates You at the Charleston in Williamsburg, largely due to catfish's recommendation. They're fucking awesome. Pretty crushing live. Cool guys too. The singer/guitarist has a really fucking weird performing style, he sets the mic at just above waist height and then hunches over to sing into it. Kind of the anti-Lemmy.
Picked up their CD Send More Paramedics. It does not disappoint. A huge, chunky, Southern Fried riff-fest. Recommended for fans of Down, Clutch, etc.

Id recommend anyone to go check out Music Hates You if they ever come to your town to play a show. We played with them the same night as Scion Rock Fest. It was a decision between going to Scion or getting to finally hook up and play with MHY. The decision was clear.
I think its fuckin awesome with Noah and his whole mic stance thing he does. I love to throw beer and they are better at it than I am. We all got so drunk at that gig. Zack the guitar player with the flying V had to help me out that night. I was blitzed and pissing in the mop closet when he snuck in there to get high and caught me. I have nothing but love for them dudes and cant wait to play with them next Saturday.

Metal Guys i have a question for you
Hey Metal Guys
I am starting a website called shutyourfuckingfaceandlisten.com. Its up but its not running yet. everything on there right now is a place holder. I have been collecting content from friends who are gonna do blogs and podcasts. I approached MT2 about it last week, asking if he wanted to write somethng for it. He suggested reaching out to you guys and seeing if you wanted to do a collaborative metal blog on the page, something you could update as you see fit.
let me know what you think.

MT1, Son.
Obviously, I'm down. I think an ongoing metal chat about whatever we'd been listening to lately, classic shit we fear others might be sleeping on, notes and flicks from shows we'd been to could be pretty cool. For us, at least. Whether readers will give a shit remains to be seen.
On another note, Zack didn't play with them last night. It was just Noah, Forest and the drummer. Don't know why.

what the ass? I hope its all good. I got to get pretty cool with all them except the drummer. he was a beast on the kit but seemed like the shy reserved one. Forest somehow managed to look Grungier on stage. The super bright white light rigs the use may have just been revealing.Masked Terror #1 wrote:MT1, Son.

I think that rundown is pretty much perfect. Do you guys want to come up with a name for it? I will have my brother set up accounts for you guys so you can post whenever you want

Over the years, most of us have uploaded our favorite classics several times. It gets repetitive after a while. "The Definitive Thrash Metal Thread" "The Official NYHC Thread"
And most of us upload our favorite new shit as soon as it drops. But metal's such a huge genre and everyone has their individual tastes within it, so those posts usually get 3-5 downloads/responses at best.
Not to mention that pretty much every metal album ever is just a trip to Google away thanks to Russian, Eastern European and South American Blogspot enthusiasts.
I'm not hating on the idea, it's just that I keep hearing people suggest this and I'm not sure what they mean. How exactly do you see this working?
you lil bitch
kidding...
When people think of Providence, Rhode Island they typically think of organized crime

Well, Alaska was finally able to answer this question-
You see, it'll be exactly the same as the day to day of this forum, except we'll be posting while wearing platinum and diamond http://www.shutyourfuckingfaceandlisten ... forleather medallions.Masked Terror #1 wrote:How would this be different than the day to day forum?
