I don't get into about 80 percent of the stuff they put out, but I dig some albums, especially on drugs, and I like them live.

this is interesting because of all the guest musicians from different musical backgrounds and the fact that they said it will be their most musical record.

In other much more awesome news Gorguts have reformed with a new lineup including these fucking psychos.

Luc Lemay of course, but playing with him
* Kevin Hufnagel (DYSRHYTHMIA, WHILE HEAVEN WEPT, BYLA, EUCLID STREET, THE FIFTH SEASON, GREY DIVISION BLUE) - Guitar

* Colin Marston (DYSRHYTHMIA, BEHOLD... THE ARCTOPUS, BYLA, KRALLICE, INDRICOTHERE) - Bass

* John Longstreth (DIM MAK, ORIGIN, THE RED CHORD, SKINLESS, POSSESSION, ANGELCORPSE) - Drums

and here is a new rehearsal clip that is jaw dropping. This is some sinister, dissonant shit.

Bout time Gorguts came back to show everyone who the gulliest tech band ever is.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZGFyevUf5gE&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZGFyevUf5gE&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

The only newer band I've liked that is close to their style is Ulcerate, check out that band if you want.

been revisting this awesomeness lately. enjoy.

Anthrax is a New York City-based heavy metal band that released its first full-length album in 1984. The band was one of the most popular of the 1980s thrash metal scene and is notable for being the first to combine heavy metal with rap music. The band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide, and is classified as one of the "big four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer.

Haha, ditto.

:teehee:

Saw them twice back in the heyday.

Once at MSG with Megadeth and Slayer on the Clash of the Titans tour and once in Denver with PE.

The MSG show was hilarious. Anthrax went on last because it was their home town. During Slayer's set folks had been ripping off seat cushions and throwing them around and Araya was all "Knock that shit off if you ever want to have Metal at the Garden again."

Then Anthrax came out and were like "Tear this motherfucker up!"

Oh man, I saw the Clash of the Titans tour in Lakeland, where they actually did some of the recording of Decade of Aggression. People were lighting seats on fire n shit. And Slayer and Anthrax kept baggin on Dave Mustaine, which I was totally down with.

Seeing Anthrax without Joey Belladonna kinda sucked though, saw that back in 94 so I could see Quicksand.

Fuck yes. This is one of the things I've missed. I haven't been on a comp in ages but I'm back. Mainly to absorb. I need to hit up more shows.

I credit more than half of my knowledge in these various genres to MT, Catfish, cas, and the puncher of christ. Can't say I'm not lucky to have influences with good taste.

Too bad Cas and CP don't post anymore.

Great thread guys. Metal in the one genre of music I'm sorely lacking in so this thread helps a lot.

btw I think slime doesn't post often because of his internet connection, but he's been killing it over at the KiNGS blog.

Nice to have you back, 360. Assume you're also worshiping at the wooded alter of the new WITTR record. Saw them outdoors (not in the woods, unfortunately) at midnight at SXSW a few days ago. Their show is as ferocious/epic/awe-inspiring as ever.

What's the KINGS blog?

You know it. I was actually jealous that you got to seem them until I noticed that they will be playing here on the 26th with Krallice, of all bands. That's so sick. I won't miss that for anything. I knew it was only a matter of time, though.

Yeah, I'll be at that show for sure. We can have a beer and worship the forest gods and/or get lost in a deep space wormhole.

HAMMER OF DOOM has been repeat for the last hour, no kidding.

best song I've heard all year.

I'll listen to the rest of the album as soon as this song gets old for me.

AIN'T NO SUN WHERE I GO
I STAND WHERE NO ROSES GROW
DESPERATE IN THE TYPHOON
SWINGING THE HAMMER OF DOOM

yes man. ill post that MHY album and a couple other goodies I recently aquired. Ive been on the run from the law for the last two weeks so i have been avoiding my house at all cost. Im using my sisters laptop. If I can duck and dodge the law until i get back from this mini tour then i should be back on my grind as soon as my personal bs gets sorted out.

hope ya had a good time at sxsw. Hull was fucking rediculously good when we played with them Saturday night. Super cool cats and i touched all their yankee wangs.

What do you consider their best album? I only have Oceanic and I quite enjoy it.
