Money Gripp's White Trash BBQ mix

Post by Money Gripp »

Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner so what better time to start thinking about BBQ's and BBQ mixes? This mix is for an informal BBQ where people sit around on those crappy department store lawn chairs, drink cheap beer, smoke butts, toss some burgers on the grill, maybe play some horseshoes, maybe smoke some grass - you get the idea. I tried to find a good balance between raunchy rock and metal, well-known bands and more obscure ones, but all the songs are "hits".

Let's hear what some rock stars and celebrities have to say about this comp:

Image
"If I weren't nailin groupies, drinkin whiskey, and tourin the world, I reckon I'd be listening to this"

Image
"Money Gripp's White Trash BBQ mix is tighter than me trousers"

"Just download it, motherfucker"

ALL of this is my shit. I love rap music, but this is the shit that I grew up with.

Money Gripp, your mix should go down great at my next family reunion, where there is sure to be lots of cheap beer drinkin', butt-smoking, horseshoe playing, and a sizable pig being roasted on a makeshift oil-drum spit.

Thanks for the day's soundtrack.

Pack a lip, grab a Michelob and rock the fuck out to this!

I actually played this at a BBQ I went to last night. It got a great reception. We ate pulled pork, London broil, hot dogs, burgers, drank beer, took hits from a gravity bong, played cards on the back porch, skated the half-pipe, and generally reveled in the white trashness. :rockout:

Do white trash BBQs ever get integrated with ghetto trash or mexican BBQs?

If so, how does that get worked out so everybody's happy? What compromises - musical, culinary, recreational - must be made?

Also, is there anything on earth worse than an upper-middle class honky gathering masquerading a genuine BBQ?

The only time I observed something like this was in Barnegat, NJ. The rich LBI kids dubbed it "Barneghetto" because approximately 10 black kids and 4 Puerto Rican kids lived there. It was really just a working-class neighborhood that attracted people from North Jersey and New York.

There were many parties where Barnegat's Most Wanted (BMW) - basically all the non-white kids in the neighborhood and a motley collection of whiggers - played dice in some kid's bathroom while dudes skated out front, stoners smoked pot on the patio, and sluts were...well...sluts. It was when I first realized that despite racial and cultural differences we were all pretty much in the same boat - the mainland and LBI elite considered all of us dirtbags.

But that was amongst a bunch of high school kids - I've never witnessed a group of Lynyrd Skynyrd-listening guys who drive pick-up trucks partying with dudes from the projects. That would be awesome, though.

I remember me and my friend Chris, who makes a Norwegian look swarthy, got thrown out of an LBI house party and were told to go back to "the ghetto" because we liked rap music and used the word "yo".

The Shore/South Jersey is a really weird place.

This sounds like me and my buddies' manifesto last summer when I lived on campus (I went to undergrad in rural Maine).
