First, recognition to KiNGS for first bringing them to my attention:
Passion Pit Manners (2009)
Snyth pop. Not usually my thing but in this case, all fucking day. Comparisons confound me but I would say this is 1986 Peter Gabriel on a Prozac and TV on the Radio binge after reading only Matt Lauer impersonator twitters for a year.
liked the ep at the time. really really fell out of love with this band. maybe I'm jealous or something, I don't know. Each song wears its influence on it's sleeve and I can't get past that. The kids choir is really corny to me as well.
And is it just me or does the intro to To Kingdom Come sound like Hoobastank "The Reason"?
Anyways the songs I do like are:
Little Secrets
The Reeling
Swimming in the Flood
Folds In Your Hands

For me, it is the perfect turn the brain off and chill summer music.
I'm late to the party, so I don't know if the album will have staying power.
I think the kids choir is the most unpredictable weapon in music.
