malpractice's mike patton thread

Post by malpractice »

i figured i should probably have my own spot so that i dont turn every other thread into a patton one. i'll try to keep it contained in here.

i mostly just wanted a separate thread to ensure that as many people as possible could see this:

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zaUrzMeS4xg&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zaUrzMeS4xg&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

holy shit.
there are NO WORDS for how fuckin excited i am for this.
NO words.

ive got friends who think mike patton is overrated or that hes just a self-indulgent maker of racket, but this here proves that the dude can really, REALLY sing. damn.

from stubbadub.com:

With Faith No Moreג€™s The Second Coming Tour now extending into the early months of 2010, the release of the Mondo Cane double album has been pushed back until April/May of next year.

tired of waiting for this, but.. double album!

it's an AMAZING album. his vocals are so incredible. who cares if we dont speak italian??

when i die, i want mike patton's voice to be the last thing i hear.

also, faith no more was/is HUGE in australia.
3 of my best internet friends (we've been chatting since 96 and i finally met them in person in 2001 when my friend married one of em!) are aussies and the one fella mailed me a BOX of faith no more stuff that was never released in the states.

it was the best gift ive ever received.

Exit festival here in Serbia is gonna be sick balls this year.

Already confirmed, FNM, Bad Brains, Suicidal, Cathedral, DJ Shadow, Behemoth and a whole bunch of cool warp/ninja tune ish.

i cant believe you're saying this.
for me, it's the best thing he's done since.. shoot, im gonna say probably since fantomas "delirium cordia".

the vocals ALONE are phenomenal.

and bunz, it's crazy you say that too because since it was leaked, i havent listened to anything else really.

im trying to chill because i dont want to burn myself out on it before it's even released. i will absolutely be buying it.

about 6-7 songs are in constant rotation, Ore D'amore might actually end up being my favorite song of the year. the rest is an interesting curiosity

Its really hard for me to get over a language barrier when it comes to music. Thats basically what it boils down to for me.

this only bothers me in rap because rap is pointless when you don't understand the lyrics

doesn't bother me in the slightest for other genres though, most song lyrics are fucking retarded anyway. most of the time the voice of the vocalist is just another instrument in the mix. asiatic language singing is a big exception, can't deal with the thin reedy chinese/korean/thai singing

you're breaking my heart.
i get that, i do.
i am the biggest patton fangirl in the world and even i dont love everything he does, but how can you say this is a miss?! it's a gorgeous record. the orchestration, the vocals. the cover sucks but who cares about that.

im sorry, i cant let this go you guys.
i will fight to the death defending this album.
this is probably my favorite record of the last FIVE YEARS or so, any genre.

I TAKE THIS SHIT PERSONALLY.

i kinda do, though.
i get upset when friends (esp mutual fans) dont share my excitement about an especially great patton project.

this is the best patton project since the director's cut. that album is fucking sick and if any of you don't have it, get it right away.
