I just watched it last night, but it wasn't the Baryshnikov version but whatever...

It can be an amazing ballet and the score is dope.

I'd be pumped to have it uploaded as well.

BOOM

this is the best nutcracker recording. it is complete, the interpretation is excellent and the music is surprisingly well articulated and clean as hell despite the fact that this recording goes a little faster than other versions in most places. the ritardando is very well done as well.

When I was little I had a weird obsession with three things, wooden nutcrackers and smoking men and Chimney Sweeps. It was too the point that one Christmas my parents went to Wonderous Things in Croton-on-the-Hudson and got me a nutcracker and a smoking man in the form of a chimney sweep. Does this mean I had an unhealthy fixation on the trials and tribulations of the Dickensonian era working class? or perhaps I romanticized black lung, I dont know, but I do know this it was weird. So in fifth grade when I learned we had the opportunity to go to Lincoln Center and see the Nutcracker I was obviously stoked. Had I known that I would need to wear a suit and it was actually a ballet, I might not have been so enthusiastic. Needless to say it was pretty boring, the two things I remember most about this trip was that during the intermission I got an overpriced pack of Milk Duds that were insanely sticky, and Thomas Amazalarslo threw up about 15 minutes into the hour plus bus ride home. They tried to use that saw dust stuff they throw on puke to absorb the smell, but it didnt work, and I got a sore throat from the stench. Tommy eventually went on to get the nickname Spazz which stuck with him through high school, so I guess the lesson here is dont throw up on the bus during a school trip.

i always thought that saw dust shit was the shavings from inside the container on a pencil sharpener.

nah i think its some special shit that is supposed to absorb the smell of puke but really it just dulls it so the scent isnt as strong just hangs around your nostrills every now and again. they suck.
